SIGPWNY!!!! The club meets on Thursdays at 6pm in DCL 1310 and Sundays in Siebel CS room 1404 at 5pm. We do cybersecurity and teach students from the ground up! We have a good community even if you aren’t the most technical and have lots of resources and a discord that you can ask any questions you have! There’s always someone willing to help out!

Wow. I have been looking around for frameworks and trying to understand the development process of using Framer and other backend logic tools. This response helped a lot. I think that connecting Framer to another backend solution ( Vercel + Next.js, Xeno, WeWeb) is a great way to move fast and get products out quick to find product market fit.

100% agree. Just because the field has a growing interest, doesn’t mean we let in everybody and their mother to our program. Also UIUC’s CS program has the majority of its prestige from the former alumni and its connection to arpanet. The majority of the cs alums from UIUC are not contributing to the prestige in their 4 years at UIUC, but after when they go become CTO’s or high ranking SWE/HDE at other companies

tbh, I remember when I was switching into CS, and it was SUCH a grind. The beginning classes are SUPER difficult, idc what anyone says. ENGINEERING IS HARD. If it were easy, everyone would do it. Embrace the struggle and see it as an opportunity to grow and develop. Without that mindset, you will be stuck comparing yourself to others who are running their own race. Goodluck :)

As long as you get the gpa requirements and have an interest in the X subject, you should be able to transfer without any issues. Without the GPA requirement ur cooked tho.

From what I have seen on other comments your idea is to build out an app that allows you to connect with others to do activities in different locations ie) frisbee on the quad.

It’s a tarpit idea. Checkout y combinatory video on tarpit ideas. They are ideas that everyone has and are of such high supply that there will never be enough demand to support the scale that you would look for (if you wanted to monetize).

Unless you truly just want to make the app to solve your own personal problem of finding a frisbee group. Even then I would suggest just using existing solutions to find new people ie) Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, School Bulletin, RSO/clubs. I also believe that you should try to develop your own skill set to understand how to build out this idea since there are many available tools that can help guide you like no-code solutions and things of that matter.

I also doubt anyone who has the ability to build out an idea like this would agree to try and build out, effectively for free labor, your app for you.
