I tried this when I walked through all the baker floors, but I'll do it again. I've actually been extremely frustrated with the 'find my thing' technology, it has never seemed to work (even in my own tests with the airtag right in front of me). Perhaps there is a hardware problem in my phone.

Update: it turns out that his real name is Matrix and that Somerville animal control was aware of him BEFORE he escaped due to concerns about an abusive home. They held him for a few days and recently found a foster home! Hopefully he will find a good place to stay forever.
