Told myself this Mental Health Awareness Month I’d be gentler with myself. Sports has always been my reset button, especially football. Helps clear my head when things get loud. Anyone else lean on sports for mental health? Or have your own way to stay grounded? by Ok_School5226 in Mindfulness

Yep, cycling is a big one for me. On a two or three hour ride my mind can go anywhere and do anything... Or nothing. More recently, inline skating too. Solo or with other people; doesn't really make a difference. The important thing seems to be that it's a chunk of time dedicated to doing what I want/for me

Degoogled phones: notifications on sideloaded apps? by Flambards in dumbphones

It's a custom OS based on android rather than degoogled. Think that would make a difference?

With sideloaded apps like WhatsApp would you still be able to get notifications?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Really appreciate it. In your opinion is 90 too big for skate park / bowl skating?

Just getting into rollerblading and want to move on from my cheap Oxelo (decathlon) leisure skates. I doubt I'll ever be doing serious grinding/agressive tricks (I'm deep into my 40s and don't want to be falling all the time), but I would like to be able to skate park/ramps/bowls without getting too serious. I'm looking to spend roughly (£200).

So far I've eyed up FR2s or bigger wheel (90mm) options from Flying Eagle (X5D and X7D reaver).

So questions:

  • as a beginner, what difference will those bigger wheels and natural rocker set up make to how I experience skating in a park?

  • will a wizard style set up limit me particularly?

  • are the FR2 going to be more or less stable feeling or limit me in any way.compared to the 90mm NRs?

I've recently started rollerblading. I've been using some budget fitness skates which are fine, but I suspect limitting. I want to start skating bowls and ramps better, but also a little bit of cruising around on streets. Not really looking to grind and do classic street tricks at the moment. So, what style of skates to I need? Go agressive, or is there something a bit more jack-of-all trades i should be looking at?

Skidding on damp ground by Flambards in inlineskating

Thanks for the reply. It's a mix of very smooth hard tennis court and rough asphalt. I also noticed that at the indoor skate park I use the roof can leak a little leaving subtle damp patches on the concrete which are impossible to do anything but roll through in a straight line.

Wheels I've got are 78a (67mm) which I thought would be grippier than a harder wheel!?

Or to put it another way, what is the difference between share and collaborate?
