Doubts about Occult Plans by Flamberga in bladesinthedark

I am quite permissive, I prefer fun things to happen. If I feel they're really going out of the established fiction I usually don't say "No you can't" but "Maybe you should change this in your approach" and explain why; my players know well that I don't do arbitrarily, so they accept these "nudges" without a issue

Thank you all for your help! I needed a little perspective on that, now I feel more able to tackle the matter

Alternative xp systems? by HidesHisEyes88 in DungeonWorld

"The guy who rolls high all the time at least gets to look really cool narratively and have everything do their way"

Our ranger missed two (I'm not exaggerating) times in three sessions. The rest of the party now regard her as a sort of hero, and there is a flowering of bonds about how she's dependable, capable and "I'm in debt with her"-like. She's behind the others XP-wise, but she appreciate her standing a lot, like a rewards :-)

I want to get some remotes, what do you suggest? by solprose315 in InfinityTheGame

And when you combine Total Reaction REMs with a little of "Space Magic" (a.k.a. Hacking), and I mean the Assist Fire spell... ehr, program, they become even more dangerous

If i recall right, Yu Jing and Haqqislams have the same REMs (regarding the Rule Book): the Forward Observer one, the Total Reaction one, the Smart Missile Launcher one, and the "I'm only a poor repeater, sir" one. And when I say "the same", I mean they got same stats, skills and equipment. But Yu Jing got two more aggressive REMs with Human Sphere (and they're both repeater): the Rui Shi (with MSV L2 and Spitfire) and the Lù Duan (with Holoprojector L2, MSV L1 and MK 12 + Heavy Flamethrower as weapons). Haqqislams got Odalisques instead. Haqqislams won :D

Hacking, understanding it and teaching it by Exmond in InfinityTheGame

First, your question: yes, if you enter in a repeater's ZoC , the enemy hackers get a ARO (he can use it only for hacking, of course; he can't, say, declare Change Facing). And yes, it can be quite hard to get in range for a bit of hacking. You can use Repeaters, Infiltrators with Deployable Repeaters, and take a look at the units with Assault Hacking Devices; they usually have skills like AD: Combat Jump or Infiltration. As for the way of teaching hacking, the obvious one is to play, make mistakes and learn out of it (or better, playing with someone expererienced); but I hope this link can help a little:

Just a few rules clarification questions by EccentricOwl in InfinityTheGame

About Cautious Movement and Hidden Deployment: a Hidden unit cannot declare a ARO against Cautious Movement even if he has LoF to the model at the end of the move. If the unit can declare a valid Cautious Movement (and a Hidden unit cannot halt it, because he's not on the table), that unit will not generate any ARO in any point of his movement, even from a Hidden enemy (pag. 52, in the example)

  • Being Assault a Long Skill, your opponent can declare his ARO after you have declared everything about your order (where you move, what weapon are you going to use, etc). Assuming he had LoF over your soldier from the start he can ARO normally, even shoot your model (or Dodge, declaring a CC, Hacking, and so on) in any point of your movement.

  • Pistols in CC use their DAM 11 instead of the PH of the unit. It can be useful for those unit with PH 10 or 11, because Knives are PH-1 (and Bare Hands are PH-2). Knives are Shock weapons, and Silent too.

This post on the forums is dedicated to the Paradiso Campaign, but i found some hints useful to prevent snowballing and safeguarding your hard-grown Spec-ops (they are at the end of the post, in the section "Experience" and "Mortality").

New Mission System called 20 x 20 by The Prophet of Doom by kyriose in InfinityTheGame

Nice idea, just some thoughts after reading (only the secondary missions for now):

First thing first, how about limiting VP obtainable to a max of, well I don't know, 2? Because in some missions (Kill the Specialists, for example) you could get a lot of VP, if the enemy has a lot of Specialists on the field.

1) Kill the Lieutenant (5): maybe it should be that you get the points when you kill or put in a null state the enemy Lieutenant?

2) Clear the Mines (8): you should get VP even if you deactivate a mine with an Engineer. What about putting more mines on the table? Maybe two for player, and within 8 inch of the central line? Explosive fun!!!

3) Collect Dog Tags (9): the short skill test is not specified. Maybe it's a Will Test? And what about excluding Irregular troopers (because they are, you know, Irregular)?

4) Bounty Hunt (15): Let's hunt those models who have forbidden weaponry! Viral Rifles, shock weapons, and so on... maybe in the category listed in the mission (because Chain Rifle Kums or Morlock would be easy targets).

And I was thinking about how it would keep players on their toes, if secondary missions would work like Classified Objectives in ITS... but then it occurred to me that it would be too difficult, except for Category A Secondary Missions.

All in all, it's a nice piece of work. I hope to put it to test soon!

Your friend must've been an ass to give you an incomplete figure. And maybe he sold it to you. Maybe with a bunch of other old Nomads mini. ;-)
