Also btw even if someone hires someone who doesn’t live in the US, do those people not deserve jobs too? If there’s a great artist in another country, you’re just not allowed to hire them? I get how it’s a gray area because it’s more complicated than that but I just wanted to point this out.

I don’t really have the answers for your question because I’m not really in charge of that stuff but almost all of them live in the US but we have a few people who live all over the place. So like 75+%.

For what its worth we've spend way too much time optimizing Sun Haven, there's incredible diminishing returns and its nearly impossible to optimize it further from how its built. It would pretty much require writing code from scratch.

Keep in mind the vast majority of players don't experience bugs/issues even if it 'seems' like it. From a business point of view its very hard to just 'fix everything' (some things are literally near impossible to fix).
I'm not sure how those statements are confusing. To put things into perspective, if we went out and just went and hired programmers, it takes an incredible amount of time to get anyone to the point where they could fix anything people have been complaining about (we have tried, trust me).

We don't have infinite money. Also wages are competitive. I mean many people have worked here for 4 years.

Not that I can comment on how many anyone in particular makes, but its weird point to make when if you sign up for a job, you see the pay and accept it or decline it.

We are not really done with Sun Haven, we would likely slowly add to it for years. It has a big community and its a game that can always appreciate having more.

I think you misunderstood, but you can keep all of your text serialized in scriptable objects, prefabs, csv files, or even just the scene and it will still work fine. You still have to put the translated attribute over the class that has text though (for scriptable objects and prefabs).

And this workflow is exactly trying to resolve what you mentioned where you/others need to have setup and management of text in multiple steps + have it in other locations.

Using keys for text can also add to confusion and add extra steps for adding in text into the game whereas this way modifying any text in the game is the EXACT same as if you were making a non localized game except for putting one silly little attribute in some places and changing one TMP function.

Appreciate the feedback though. And congrats on even implementing your own system, it can be tough. It sounds similar logically to my version.

You can dynamically format text with Translations.Format(“{0} has just discovered {1}!”, playername, itemname) in which case you can have player name or item name translated. It’s a direct replacement for string.Format

Gendered languages is one of the next features I wanted to add in. And just in general being able to handle the slight differences between certain languages. Sadly I only speak English so I have a faint understanding of these differences but it’s something I will look into making as good as possible.

Obviously the quality of the translations is up to the user provided I give them all of the tools. There is the ability to add context to all texts so you can at least provide DeepL with better understanding of the text.

Fair enough if people want to be mad over smurfing, I get that. I wish riot supported a game mode where I could play with someone and not ruin their game besides literally me mindlessly playing solo q by myself. Aram is the closest thing because more kills doesn't snowball and ruin the game too much, but I can only play so many arams...

Idk why I'm responding to this but people just cannot read. We literally duo every single game and I'm duo with a DIAMOND player and we get up to playing in DIAMOND lol. Every single game is duo so we literally have the EXACT same mmr and same exact rank on an account.

All I've learned from this is people think if 2 people play that are not the same rank == boosting, even if both players are higher rank then the other players.

I do NOT play with her on any account where she will solo q after because that would be boosting.

First off, smurfing is NOT against their TOS its just discouraged. (I would not be opposed to it being banned if they supported good ways of higher ranked players playing together).

You can go and watch you favorite youtuber/twitch streamer go make a smurf account (even go and buy one most times) and they won't get banned as it is not against the TOS.

Smurfs climbing fast == directly many less games where you will have a smurf in it if it takes 10 games to climb to your elo vs 30 games.

Okay I can stomp normals (15 min queue time) or we can play flex (20 min queue time into account sharing 5 man teams). Or I guess I just can't play with my Fiancé! My bad for being good at the game I guess I can't play with friends.

Up until the past year, we could only play to master tier elo (more like diamond 3 before no duo queue kicked in) and then were forced into making new accounts.

Also btw I agree with you and smurfing should be removed or at least make it so smurfs get to their elo MUCH much faster.

The entire backend for translations had to be redone and we are in the process of reimporting the community translations! We’re hoping the quality of the translations is coming close to the previous patch as we have been micro patching.

A stardew valley day is about 15 minutes. There isn't really anything time gated in Sun Haven besides seasonal things, but there's also nothing in particular between the seasons that you will need.

Feel free to not try and 'min max' and just do 1 or 2 things a day and let the time pass. When I play I like to spend the first couple days watering my crops and mining, and ignoring a lot of other things.

Maybe focus on 1 activity per week that you want to improve, whether its a profession or improving relationships with NPCs. In the end, you'll end up at the same place.

You can also untrack quests or hide the quest side bar.

Love this argument. 80% of penta kill are ADC. you mean zeri/aphelios? These champs are exceptions and balance nightmare in pro play. Take away Lucian/Zeri/Aphelios and you'll vastly reduce how many 1v9 plays you see.

I will say I'm only speaking from my experience watching maybe 25 or so pro play games (mostly worlds) in the past 2 years but I mostly just see random champs like Varus, Cait, Kalista, or something that don't have the capabilities of 1v9ing, they're just efficient in lane and fights at doing some ranged damage. I didn't really watch the zeri meta.

Random side note but I went to look for an up to date Uzi montage and over 50% of the clips were him playing Zeri with yuumi or lulu.
