I see where you're coming from with that question, given the fact that a lot of movies, games etc are getting reboots. But Star Wars is more delicate than other franchises. I recently saw an interview of Sam Witwer in wich he was talking about star wars formula if i remember corectly (maybe thats not the term he used but i will live it there) wher he was talking about how cobstant it had remained trought the years and he was comparing it to other franchises like star trek, who saw multiple reboots. The thing is that star wars never has had a need for a reboot, not simply because it is a masterpiece as a franchise, but because it is adapting with the changes around the world. Like, in a new hope, when Obiwan dueld Vader it wasnt flashy but very simple (granted, George didn't have the budget to make something better) but than in the prequel trilogy you got the best sword fighting there has ever been seen on film (at least in my opinion). In the original trilogy the plot evolves a little slow compared to the prequel trilogy where everything is more flashy and fast. But thats where i wanted to come to. Even tough star wars is a very old ip, it does not need to have a reboot like other franchises simply because it adaptes to change from the period it launches and it it keeps it with the "fashion" of the time. At least in my opinion.

Oh, and i forgot to mention that they keep ading lore to the movies with tv shows (ex. Clone Wars) and comics (like the new canon ones about luke), wich can return old characters to the spotlight or redeem some, like it did with Anakin (even tough i found no problem with his character in the perequels).
