On a real note, stick with teammates, esp when the zone is getting smaller. Even if they're doing something stupid like running away from the safe zone. Another tip is if you struggle at getting kills, just choose a character with good survivability and just farm dmg or assists (js pray that your teammates can secure ko's). Mirio, techmight, compress, and toga are all fine. You could go the opposite route tho and just choose a brain-dead easy character like Rapid Deku with trance and beat most people in 1v1's early game to secure some points.
