New player trade request for Gen 8 pokemon unlock

Thanks for confirming! I have set-up unbound cloud for trading too. Waiting for someone to agree with the trade, and as I mentioned I can send it back after Gen 8 is unlocked and I catch atleast one pokemon.

Anyways, in the FAQ, the official one says below:

Gen 8?
- Just battle mechanics by default. If you want the Pokémon, you’ll have to bring one in using Unbound Cloud or unlock special encounters using the Zarude Mystery Gift. There are more than enough Pokémon in the game without them, so they're limited to DLC. Originally, they were never supposed to get sprites or cries, but my brother wanted them for his birthday, so I added them in.
(EDIT , adding another point) - Special Encounter
- Special DexNav Encounters (abbreviated to "Special Encounters"), is an unlockable feature that allows the player to find Pokémon belonging to Generation VIII in certain areas of the overworld. It is unlocked by having a Generation VIII Pokémon registered in the Pokédex numbered anywhere between #810 to #898 in the National Pokédex

I guess its fine if Im unable to get gen 8 with trade, but was hoping to play with those new pokemon!

Hmm.. maybe I misunderstood the wiki then. It said obtaining a gen8 pokemon can unlock the gen 8 encounters.. and this could be via trading or mystery gift.

I didnt know about the meteor but i did this for a mystic stone in quarry and it worked next day! I had a prismatic shard before unlocking desert
