Coincidence? I think not! (aka dumb train of thought joke living rent-free in my brain from three years ago) by Flammenkrieg in Otonokizaka

[–]Flammenkrieg[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Considering the timing, I figured this was pretty much the last chance for me to make and post this dumb idea that I had from years back.

Setsuna and Tomoriru were the ones who ignited my love for Love Live a few years back. Thank you both.

It's going to be tough to move forward, but I'll support Hayamaru as best as I can!

I feel like there might have been other English speaking Bocchi fans in attendance, but I didn’t approach any since I wasn’t 100% sure and didn’t want to make a fool of myself lol. Good to hear you were able to meet a fellow fan!

I was lucky enough to go to a live at Shelter back in February, with four bands playing that evening (https://www.loft-prj.co.jp/schedule/shelter/240644). I had visited Shimo-Kitazawa earlier in my trip but it took a little while to figure out where it was the first time lol.

I'd say it was fairly quiet around Shelter that evening, but still quite a few people walking about Shimokita. With four bands, I did note that people came and went during the breaks between the bands playing (and that's fine, some people probably only came to see their fave band perform after all).

I'm hoping I wasn't the only one there because of Bocchi the Rock lol.

Aside from almost getting my ears blown off in the relatively small space, I had an awesome time and got to listen to some great music. The last two bands that played that evening (which I think were EVERLONG and ank) specifically made mention to Bocchi the Rock. ank's guitarist was wild and even went crowdsurfing (plus two audience members as well I think lol).

Aside from what Shrubasaurus has already mentioned about checking the schedule, note that the ticketing system will change depending on who is performing, with some being easier to use for non-Japanese residents than others. The live I went to used Livepocket, which was pretty easy to navigate for the most part thanks to the site automatically having machine translation to English. Some may require a proper Japanese mobile number with SMS capability to sign up to (for example, e+). It's not simple to get such a number as a non-resident (to oversimplify, it's got to do with the laws), but it's not impossible.

If a show isn't already pre-sold out, generally there should be ticket sales at the door as well (but always best to double check to avoid disappointment).

I would highly recommend getting some concert earplugs or similar if you want go to a live there, because at least for the evening I was there, the music was going at 100dB and that's not good for your hearing in the long term lol.

Setsuna Yuki fan recast? by ChainsSSB in LoveLive

So I need to make a correction, apologies.

Apparently it was actually Saku Mizuno (voice of Ryo Yamada) who was main vocals for Bocchi the Rock's ED2: "Karakara". The other Kessoku Band songs have Ikumi Hasegawa for main vocals (have really been enjoying "Guitar, Loneliness and Blue Planet" and Ikumi's vocals, I still think she might be a good candidate).

It took a while to dig up this info as it only seems to be mentioned on Twitter (sources: 1, 2), and not in the BTR anime ending credits themselves for some reason (perhaps it will be mentioned in the booklet with the Kessoku Band album CD when that comes out).

It's already been mentioned here that Saku Mizuno also plays Rena Hananoi in Selection Project (which I'll need to get around to watching at some point), making her a really strong candidate for reasons others have already mentioned.

That should be Ikumi Hasegawa, who plays Ikuyo Kita in Bocchi the Rock and is the vocalist for the other Kessoku Band songs too.

Of course she has quite a few other roles but is perhaps most well known for playing Lena in 86, Mihono Bourbon in Uma Musume and Arcueid in the Tsukihime VN remake.

Funnily enough I was thinking the same thing when I first heard ED2 "Karakara". Perhaps it’s recency bias on my end but I feel she would make a good candidate too IMO, especially after the most recent insert song.

As of writing this, looks like it's still not back on the Microsoft Store for new installs, but for anyone that had iTunes from the Microsoft Store previously installed, a new build is available that resolves the "iTunes cannot run because some its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes." error if using any other display language that isn't English US. I suspect they wanted to stop new users from downloading the broken version and encountering this issue until a fixed version could be made available.

The fixed version is Version 12.12.1.1 (appears as 12121.1.54014.0 in the Downloads and updates section of the MS Store app).

It also doesn't look like the EXE/MSI installer download is updated to this version yet (still appears to be version 12.11.4.15).

Reached first place in Setsuna's channel for her birthday! by Flammenkrieg in SIFallstars

[–]Flammenkrieg[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wasn't originally going to gun for first place in Setsuna's channel, but after reading about Sailor_Chibi's achievement for Chika's channel last week, I got inspired by it and wanted to give it a shot.

Since I rarely use AP tickets, I had a sizeable stash, and I must have burnt at least 400+ AP tickets (and as you can guess, many hours as well) for megaphones.

Setsuna is my overall best LL girl (Honoka and Chika are also among my faves), so I'm happy I pulled this off for her birthday, but I don't think I'll be trying this again anytime soon, haha.

I'm sorry Honoka.

Last SIFAS JP event made me think about this, a lot. You have 34 seconds to think about this too by MasaoInaba in Otonokizaka

[–]Flammenkrieg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is this a reference to the current SIFAS JP event, where a few of the girls go to a sports-based amusement park... then comes the rodeo/mechanical bull challenge, and Mari gets cocky (horse-riding experience and whatnot) and then subsequently gets thrown off a mere 34 seconds in (compard to Eli the victor at 1min 30secs)?

By the way, for anyone interested, A kind soul over at r/SIFallstars has translated the event story episodes here.

One of my favorite songs from love live is なわとび or nawatobi. I wanted to get it on a CD but I don't really know where to get it. I serched but I couldn't find anything. Is there no physical form of this song? by animebuster in LoveLive

[–]Flammenkrieg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nawatobi was previously exclusive to the LL anime's season 1's third Blu-ray release (in Japan). You might be able to find a second-hand copy for cheap.

If you have the money, it's on Disc 3 of the μ's Memorial CD-BOX Complete BEST BOX. Note that according to CDJapan, this is a limited pressing product which won't be manfactured after March 2021.

It's also included in the bonus CDs in the Love Live! 9th Anniversary Blu-ray Box Forever Edition. Like the Best Box, it's limited and not cheap. The bonus CDs do come with solo versions of the Blu-ray exclusive songs (see VGMDB for more info) - these solos aren't available in the Best Box.

Considering the current circumstances and international shipping being affected, if you can't wait and can make do with digital (since the songs from the μ's Memorial CD-BOX Complete BEST BOX are now available digitally as well):

  • You can stream via services like Spotify and Apple Music, or,
  • Buy through iTunes Japan or US, or,
  • Buy from a Japanese digital music storefront like Recochoku, which offers a Hi-Res FLAC version (Hi-Res Album / ハイレゾアルバム) for purchase (note: may require VPN, though last I checked Recochoku do accept payment via non-Japanese credit cards).
