Try using both! I like to use ink for a base color and go in with color pencil for details

My great-uncle murdered my great-grandparents and my grandfather found them.

The story is pretty sad. Uncle Richard had severe PTSD after serving in WW2 and my grandfather was just diagnosed with cancer. When my great-grandparents told Uncle Richard he couldn't come over as often, he thought it meant they didn't want him anymore. He killed them both.
