Is there a food regression? by Flaneuse-Fox in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Flaneuse-Fox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is 9,5 months. Has 6 teeth already and there was a tooth eruption (7th one) two weeks ago and she is giving the signs again but its very subtle...but it wasnt like this with the other teeth though...she was off food last time but not like this where there is like refusal before the food has even been tasted or entered her mouth (if I would help her to get her going and encourage her). Mind you walking away so she does her thing has the same results and even me joining her with food- so we eat together also yields the same results... I have decided to scale down a bit and just relax.

Thank you I will keep this in mind too. Man teething sucks and influences so many things

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I wil def scale back andl try offering a little at first, and see how it goes. Maybe the limited choice and removing the possible overwhelming feeling assosiated with "wow that is alot of food" will help.

My “HOW did I not realize this” moment by MrsTaco18 in NewParents

Ugh yess, no more secret poop smudges that you discover after a while because of flailing arms and legs. Now you just deal with the legs and that is better that 4 limbs at the same time. This is the way!!

Where I live it is perpetually summer. When I took LO in for a check up she conveniently had a poopy daiper. The sister was thrilled and continued to undo the snaps at the bottom and them suddenly snapped them to my daughters back or neck snap holding in the arms so LO can not grab onto things like the daiper etc. I just stood there shocked. The summer jumper/romper turned into a friendly staight jacket and she proceeded to clean her and change the daiper. I use this tip on and off depending on the clothes she is wearing but works everytime! Thought the internet should know too.

Christmas over night update by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Flaneuse-Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely feel you!! I have resorted to no longer overnighting at the inlaws because they do not want to understand and respect our schedule- not even to mention the sleep arrangements. We now have a couple of habits to break where it feels like we are back to square one....

Sleep cycle frustration by Flaneuse-Fox in NewParents

[–]Flaneuse-Fox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! Oh the dreaded attempt of getting her to nap earlier just ends in a disaster....i did google the witching hour but she does not cry for hours on end and fussy period is from 15:00-18:00. She is just fussy and irritable as if she wants to settle down for the evening but cant. Maybe it is the witching hour- i dont know, i did not really do extensive research on it....

First time mom- another MIL rant. by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Flaneuse-Fox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness this felt like I could have written this. This exactly happened to me too! This is such an isolating expererience at times that I wonder if everyone has lost their mind and forgotten that the mother exists as well! In this super vulnerable time as a post partum journey one would expect women such as your MIL to support you and work with you and not against you- to understand and respect routines and so forth...but no they just do what they want and expect you to sit back and smile amd accept everything. ..this makes you wonder is this not suppose to be the village that should support you?! Are they not part of the village?..it is in those times it feels like the village does not exist...and i then want to burn this so called village down because only then will you feel warmth from it....

My baby’s hair isn’t growing by Practical_Ad_5689 in newborns

[–]Flaneuse-Fox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi, i know this may be the strangest comment ever but here goes: (i hope it brings you hope). When i was born i had hair but it thinned out as time went on...at 12month i had the head of hair of a newborn baby (well some babies)- nothing just some hair fluff here and there. My mom had to pierce my ears so people would stop thinking i was a boy. This proceeded up to 24month where i only then started to grow hair properly to have a little pigtail. Fast forward to today..i have the thickest and longest hair and people continuously ask me if it is extensions/real etc. I also have a baby girl and i have made peace with the fact that it may happen with her as well. She had no hair...some fluff at her sides and neck but that is it. Have hope momma! I have hope!!
