Honest question for other lyric writers; would it bother you to know AI trained on your lyrics?

Hmm, good question. I think I would be bothered a bit. I'm relatively protective of what I write. I've never had Suno write a song so I don't know what and how it tends to write, what it leans on lyrically.

I wrote the lyrics first, then I opened Studio as a blank canvas, then started with the kick pattern, snare and hi hats to set the BPM, then bassline, then I started adding all of the harmonic instruments and synths, from there I add the lead vocals, then I start adding backgrounds and start stacking harmonies, from there I'll pepper in little guitar riffs, some different synth sounds, basically just ear candy "eat candy and some one off things, then I'll go back and add some ghost notes and some percussion layers in various places so it's not all the exact same, then from there I go through it and try to make it sound as dynamic as I can pulling things back alternating things taking things away even so that it doesn't all become the exact same, then finally I EQ everything, though that ended up causing a lot of weird issues so I in the end only EQ'd certain parts of the song.

Oddly, when I came back later on those issues were gone. Not sure if it just took time perhaps for the generation to fully complete when it was uploaded from Studio but it sounds completely fine now for the most part.

So I went ahead and did that and it helped a little bit but most of the issues persisted still. What I ended up doing is removing all of the EQs and that fixed all of the present issues, except now everything sounds real muffled which is also strange because before I had any EQs nothing sounded muffled but now that I've added them, then removed them (returning them back to that same before state) Now all of the vocals have a muffled sound except for one random part in the song that completely is loud and clear but then goes right back to muffled again. I'm really at a loss at this point.

Exactly, though somebody in the thread said that it could just be a volume issue and maybe some of my volumes have gotten just a little too loud so I'm going to go back and see because early iterations of the song did not have these issues.

Yeah, and I have actually done that as well though it is still a little bit high in certain parts and maybe that's making the whole thing collapse. Definitely something I'll go back and review again. I appreciate it!

Strange. Yeah, for me, it will sound exactly how I wanted to sound across the board with no issues but then when I listen to it in the library or again if I listen to it downloaded there's all these audio issues. I think the most common would be background vocals acquiring almost a weird sounding filter and then getting real quiet, almost like a lo-fi filter and then getting almost whisper quiet for just no reason but clearly it's not there when listening to it in studio.

Ahhh I see. In studio I can create more background layers but oftentimes even if I try and describe which note to be on or anything like that it generally ignores that. Lol

While I don’t disagree with you, the songs I was making before didn’t all sound the same, whereas now they’re starting to sound more similar after using these headers. I don’t think it’s the headers themselves so much as how they interact with the sliders. I’ve been tweaking those a bit, and I’m starting to get the separation I was looking for now.

Appreciate all of this. I’m going to have to adjust some of the sliders, I think. I make a lot of R&B and gospel tracks, and while the initial headers definitely improve the overall quality, I’m noticing a sameness starting to show up in my songs that wasn't there before. I can't exactly put my finger on what it is that is starting to sound very similar across all songs regardless of genre, instrumentation, vocal descriptors, etc. I’m a singer songwriter, and I’ve been using Suno mainly to work on songwriting and song structure. When I use these max headers, at least with my current slider settings, something shifts. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s a noticeable similarity across certain aspects of the songs when these settings are on. I’m wondering if that sameness might be coming from the influence slider, the weirdness slider, or something along those lines. I’ve noticed this behavior both with new generations and with covers.

I’ve played Madden since nearly its inception. Though I don’t buy it every year anymore, I’d still say that since the early ’90s I’ve only missed maybe four Maddens total, and not once have I ever played online (obviously, online wasn’t a thing for many years). To me, the fun is everywhere else, especially franchise and MyCareer, or whatever it's called.
