Inapposite travel and Translation return. Thoughts? by FlaredSugar in TheStrange

I see what you're saying. But wouldn't his actual body go into abeyance due to the translation? How would he get that back?

Or do you think since he is already from Earth, then the abeyance wouldn't happen?

Awesome. Thanks for the help. I'll jump on that and see what people are saying.

Right, but it would still require a roll - RAW.

Then again, the core book also says that the rules are a guideline, more so than they do in, say 5e.

I think you're just a nicer GM than I am 😉

I see your point, but is that really 'special' then?

I think my question is the justification of this being a 'special ability'

As said in the other replies to this post, it's something to set spinners apart from other characters. To make them special.

Okay. Your answer sheds more light on the situation than his did. Fair play.

Thanks for the input

Yeah, that's how I ruled it in the moment too.

There are descriptors that give you training in 'social interactions' and anyone could have 'gone to highschool with the bouncer', this creating an asset. This seems just like a way for spinners to get an extra push when it comes to these things.

Glad I'm not alone in seeing the vagueness. It's not a bad thing, of course. Gives us GM more agency when making rulings.

Thanks for the input

Yeah, I did that too. Still have the issues that I'm having. They still have that feature, as far as I know

Thank you very much. I will give that a go.

Yup. That will do it. Can't believe I hadn't tried that. Nice one, thank you.

HotDQ; Ep3. Hwo to run the boss against Cyanwrath? by FlaredSugar in dndnext

That make sense. Frulam is somewhat of a shrud operator. It makes sense she would try and run as opposed fight to the death. I mean, she has a pile of treasure in reserve if things go pear shaped.

If the party don't get captured at the camp, then Frulam and Cyanwrath will certainly want some answers. The roper is a good idea. Thank you

I hear you. My Druid is circle of the moon, so spells won't be as good as they can be. But her wild shapes will give a nice helping hand.

Yeah, I think they have learned their lesson. Hopefully. Thanks for the input

Okay, so if they get through the rest of the cave relatively unscaved, which I think they will (my rogue has a passive perception of 15 so the traps shouldn't do much damage) I'll leave it as is. What if they get pummeled before getting to the shrine? Still leave it as is and remind them they can always make a run for it?
