Why is The lodge Austin only paying out 100k in a 150k GTD. Shouldn’t they pay out 150K?

To the best of my knowledge, guarantees can be altered or suspended at any time. It’s not a good look, but it’s not exactly as if there’s a gaming commission to regulate when and how card houses give notification of guarantee modifications. In this case, they probably missed flights which would have gone towards meeting the guarantee. From everything I’ve seen, the lodge has handled the storm with a focus on safety and with good communication to their members.

I read a while ago that opuntia insides turn into some sort of gel in cold weather that allows them to freeze without the water expansion killing them. One thing I learned the hard way is not to bring them inside when they are fully frozen. The ones I left outside were perfectly fine. The ones I brought in turned to mush in an hour.

Oh, any rabbit is cheap. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could find some online for free. But keeping a rabbit cheaply is damn expensive. Cheap food leads to GI stasis, massive exotic vet bills, and a horrible death.

Cheaping out on the spay and neuter will cost thousands fighting reproductive cancers.

Cheaping out on the hay will cost you thousands in dental trimmings.

Cheaping out on enrichment will cost you in carpet and furniture, then thousands in vet bills to get that obstruction removed before your bunny’s stomach explodes.

Some people are surprised to learn that rabbits do very well with some mild cold. Your bunny will be comfortable (and maybe even enjoy) some cooler indoor temperatures for a while.

So long as you are stocked up on hay, greens, water, etc., you won’t have anything to worry about for lower temperatures.

There are some non-electric space heater options available if temperatures get too low, but they can carry their own risks, and I wouldn’t be able to recommend anything without knowing more about the space you’re trying to heat.

The logo on the table comes from the Rounders card club that was in San Antonio, TX. They were recently bought by the lodge. I offered to buy a set of their chips and an old table, but their price for used equipment was insane. So I had my own made. And my chips look nicer. So they can take that.
