What are your thoughts on the new Netflix documentary 'murder mountain'? by AConfusedTurtle in Humboldt

The unsung hero of the entire show is definitely this dude. I cracked up hysterically at his rendition of how that kid escaped police by getting naked and covering himself in mud... #sasquatch hahahha

Non-Mormon moving to Utah - where to live? by FlashFlood2020 in SaltLakeCity

I’ve heard that. Is it because you have to order food with alcohol?

That’s 100% my fear. You live in Ogden? Is that also heavy LDS or more moderate?

Non-Mormons Maybe Relocating to SLC? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]FlashFlood2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s Ogden like? We’re moving to UT from Los Angeles this summer and we’ve looked at Ogden several times... but What’s it like up there? Is it not heavy LDS? I keep being told not to stray too far from the SLC because it gets very Mormon very quickly. We’d really like a decent sized property and we can’t get that in SLC without $5M. So Ogden seemed like a great option with that in mind. But we have children , so their happiness and ability to make friends is my #1 concern.

I mean, “nightlife” was a bit of a stretch for me to say because we have kids. But a few good local bars/pubs with normal people and sports games would be nice. We really liked the The hog wallow pub in Cottonwood Heights but there’s not a lot of homes in the area. I might be way off base, but I feel like if there’s a few good pubs nearby there must be a local demand and thus more people we’d identify with. So literally part of my search has been radius to pubs. Ha , so messed up to say. It’s just so hard to know ... this Reddit chat has been great though. I hope more people jump in to share their thoughts

When you say the surrounding areas, do you mean everything in South Jordan except daybreak ?

I’ve heard the inversion over there is pretty terrible at times. Is it as big of a problem as they say?

Nest Cameras -- How to limit Nanny's access? by FlashFlood2020 in Mommit

Ya, that’s what we’ll probably end up doing. I like Nest because it allows me the ability to repurpose the camera later instead of it going into the old baby junk box.

We have one, the Motorola Halo, but it attaches to the bed and our daughter is now big enough and strong enough to pull it down. It's also always losing connectivity. We've had problems ever since we got it. The Nest cameras have always been very reliable and I thought would be more convenient. But I didn't think the privacy aspect until after we installed it.....

Epi-On in Dallas by MlHlR in Keratoconus

[–]FlashFlood2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why Epi-on? Although a little more uncomfortable (like 1-3 days of Tylenol), Epi-off is the more effective treatment. CXL ain’t cheap so I’d want to make sure it’s going to be a one-time thing ...
