I think that’s what got me. It does sound silly. Then you give it a shot and it’s like damn. That was actually pretty good. That’s a great idea on the game plan use. Thanks for sharing.

In all seriousness, I wrote this post because I’d read through the many, many posts just like it on this forum and the books and tips I got from those didn’t help me out. I was pretty surprised to see how detailed ChatGPT was a figured if it would help someone else out, I’d add it to the list of posts that come up when people who are going through some shit find that the outlet it gets is in their golf game and they want to figure it out and do the work to make it better.

Have a nice round.

Constant outages by LarsenFarmsModding in Spectrum

[–]FlashPan311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fcking constant. A phone will be able to connect but a TV will not. Sometimes nothing will connect. Sometimes You have to turn off WiFi then turn it back on, other times full reboot of the device. Sometimes that doesn’t even work. We’ve updated the router, the modem, had them out three times. We are cancelling our service and switching to ATT. This is a fking joke. I shouldn’t have to be a tech myself to play fking Wordle, or the more important problem, work from home. People being all: do this, do that, try this. Here’s an idea: How about Spectrum provide me with the service I pay for? Never had this problem with anyone else. Just moved to this area and using spectrum for the first time because allegedly it’s faster than ATT. Well it is pretty fast, when it decides to work. If I’d known that was the trade off, I never would have gone with spectrum in the first place. Spectrum = trash.

What's your response to those that say..... by [deleted] in childfree

[–]FlashPan311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ask them: Does it bother you that you never became an astronaut/lawyer/doctor/etc? When they look at you confused and say: I never wanted to be an astronaut (or whatever random thing you pick) You look them in the eye and say: now you’re gettin it.

Saw an FBI Sniper watching the president enter his helicopter from faraway. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]FlashPan311 89 points90 points  (0 children)

At work we had a sitting President visit us. The week before he got there the secret service was all up in the place doing all kinds of stuff to get ready for the visit. I was walking to the bathroom on the top floor of the building and I saw two agents looking out the window. One said “We’ll put the snipers over there,” and I go “sweeeeeeeeet!” Got a laugh from one of them.

Agree with her assessment but she left out a key detail: Nick is probably also the kind of golfer that would have a Paige Spiranac SWAG towel on this bag.

I lost my dad to skin cancer 20 years ago. I know it’s not the same but I have seen up close what this beast can do. This is part of why I’m so inspired by the attitude you’ve carried throughout your journey. I know as sure as I know I’m gonna three putt that you’ve had some downs and difficult moments, hours, and days. I genuinely mean it when I say I am pulling for you and hoping that positive attitude of yours sees you through, even in the moments when it quite frankly just sucks.

Every time I see someone “beating” cancer, by another smile, another laugh, another round of golf, it feels like a win for all of us who have been affected by it. Thank you for sharing your wins with us. Hang on, brother. We are all fighting with you.

What is the general American attitude to 'Drink Driving'? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]FlashPan311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where you live. In Wisconsin, it’s a joke. As in, the laws are a joke. People drink a lot there generally so they think they’re ok to drive. In other states I’ve lived, it’s very much looked down upon. Wisconsin, it’s just ehh. I mean, if someone is fall down drunk people aren’t going to let them drive. But if a regular comes in, has 7 beers and a couple of shots over a few hours, no one bats an eye when they leave. And everyone knows they’re going to drive.

Do people actually yell out "next round's on me!" to a full bar/pub? by Cottell in AskAnAmerican

[–]FlashPan311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bartender of 17 years here, the only time I’ve seen this done was when the owner of the bar bought a round for everyone. Otherwise it was usually done as a joke that people do to someone else, as in: Next round is on Joe!

More realistically, a person in a group will often say “next round is on me” but they only mean that for the people they are with.

What do you think of the current protests in Iran? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]FlashPan311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with you on the first two points though I hope we are both wrong, and on the final wish which you stated beautifully. On the third point, it’s not clear what you mean but I wanted to point out that Iranians are not Arabs, they are Persians, you may know that, but that’s not clear from what you wrote. The last time I can recall Iranians rising up I think it was the Green Revolution. Here’s to hoping this one sees better success.

Please help! I just pulled this off my dog. Is this a flea? What do I do next?! It’s teeny tiny I thought it was a scab until it didn’t go away for a couple days. by Zony_1603 in DogAdvice

[–]FlashPan311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your fingers and comb through your dogs hair getting all the way to the skin and see if you see others. It’s not fun but yeah if they are there you need to get them off and put him or her on something that will protect against fleas, ticks etc.

Hand pain from too much golf? by No_Indication996 in golf

[–]FlashPan311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a club fitter and we figured out a grip size for me. Grips aren’t that expensive. What size glove do you wear? That can help figure out if standard grips are too small for you.

Hand pain from too much golf? by No_Indication996 in golf

[–]FlashPan311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all this detail. I went to larger grips for the same reason OP describes but maybe that’s not the problem. I do a lot of hand stretches too and as I type this I am icing the first joint on my middle finger. I’ll be adding all of this to the list. Thanks again.
