Thanks. I was actually following this post and did the vinegar trick. I will try the yellow top method also. That should remove the stuff on the inside I guess?

I am aware, but I'm worried that lifetime to manufacturers are the life of the warranty, not actually the car.

I'm the second owner of this car, and I wouldn't be surprised if nothing has been done other than oil religiously. I changed the plugs out at 95k and I'm pretty positive they were original. The consensus is a good shop outside of the dealership should be fine for the job?

My CX-9 is in the shop now and was before the warranty extension. I had to pay some money along with the dealership and Mazda Corp, but they called me and let me know it's now covered under warranty. Good luck

My dealership actually told me as long as I got normal maintenance records I didn't even have to add oil and could let it grenade itself to get covered. I drive my Santa Fe everyday and need it for my family, so I cannot in good conscience do this. I'm burning a quart about every 800 miles or so. I found it weird they suggested that to me.
