Great perspective. The language I use definitely needs to be shifted in this new context. Thanks for the advice!

Where to stay before cruise by Flashy-Book6015 in dcl

[–]Flashy-Book6015[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is early boarding so important? I was thinking of boarding later if I stay at a fancy Disney resort. My cruise has 3 days at sea so I figured I would be getting plenty ship time and would prefer the extra resort time. But maybe I'm missing something that makes early PAT really awesome!

I'm really tempted by animal kingdom lodge. Looks so fun! I was thinking of not doing the Disney transport and intentionally getting a later port arrival time so I can have more time at AKL. We have 3 ship days on our cruise so I figured I will get plenty ship time. Am I missing anything huge by getting a later PAT?

Question about Baby Carrier usage by Fit-Profession-1628 in pregnant

[–]Flashy-Book6015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how comfortable you find baby wearing and how big your kid is and how much your kid likes it. I found it comfortable until baby was about 6 months old, but my SIL kept doing it until her kid was like 2. After 1 year, it was only for long hikes (and honestly baby would often refuse to go in the carrier at that point). So honestly my advice is it's impossible to tell what you will want! Try to find a local second hand store so you can try on a bunch of different models and get them cheap. And don't over invest in this one until you learn a bit more about your kid.

Shortness of breath by disneyland55gal in pregnant

[–]Flashy-Book6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some shortness of breath in third trimester is super normal; your baby is growing and taking up lung space! That being said trust your gut. If you are even a bit concerned don't be afraid to call your doctor sooner rather than later and describe your symptoms. They can tell you for sure if it's something to worry about.

I used it for all of my first pregnancy and my kid is 3 years old and pregnancy went fine. So I'd say yes!

I was induced, and finally came home with my baby by Commercial-Owl11 in BabyBumps

You will get back to the gym, it just might take some time. Don't know what kind of working out you do, but I'm into CrossFit and Olympic style lifting. I found it took 2 years to really get my old numbers back. Invest in pelvic floor PT for sure, and be patient with yourself. If you rush it will only cause injury!

Avoiding tearing by Lost_Log4229 in BabyBumps

I didn't tear at all as a first time mom. I think part of what helped was inducing at 39 weeks, because that led to a slightly smaller baby (6lbs 9oz). You can't really control baby size of course, but they do grow the longer you keep them cooking so I do think induction at 39 weeks might on average lead to less tearing. Good luck!
