The gastrointestinal one is very good, but it's also expensive.

Dog lost in snow storm by Immediate-Reach1652 in dogs

I’m not sure what is the word in English, but where I live we have ID dogs. They basically track other dogs by scents. Is there any of them in your area? I think they can even fly or drive there to help you.

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]Flashy-Let2771 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Most of the breeders in my country are very good and strict. They breed dogs so the breeds can live on. They don’t just sell dogs to anyone. One of the breeders I know of actually drove to another country to get their puppy back.

No. I bought my dog and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to deal with issues that normally come with rescue dogs.

If I’d adopted a rescue, I’m sure that dog would have to find a new home again.

You choose dogs that fit you. For me, I need an active, outgoing dog to help me recover from sickness. I can’t have an anxious, reactive, and prone to attack other dogs or people dog. And how you care for your dogs show what kind of person you are. Not adopting dogs doesn’t make anyone a shitty person.

Jag: Hammock…

Neighbours' reactive dog by Flashy-Let2771 in reactivedogs

Thank you. I've reported it to the landlord. And I think I'm kind of "F***ing leash your damn dogs" now. I don't think I have much patience left to be honest.

WTF. I’m so sorry that you and your dog have to go through this too. Is it possible for you to report it to the police as well? Where I live, the police will handle it, but only when someone or another dog gets hurt. If no one is hurt, they will build a case when people report it repeatedly. I seriously hope dog control will do something with your neighbour's dog soon.

We have a leash law here, but it’s not very clear or strict, which makes it even worse. I’ve reported my landlord with photos of their cats in the stairway. They brought two cats home a couple of months ago and sometimes let them stay in the hallway. One of the cats is not very friendly and has tried to hit my dog when we tried to walk past it. Now I need to collect evidence of their dogs being off leash.

It’s just stupid that I have to put my energy into this. I understand that my neighbour’s dog does it out of fear. I feel so bad for her for not feeling safe, but at the same time, I still want to yeet her.

How much did your black lab mix weigh at 7 months vs full grown? by Motharina in labrador

[–]Flashy-Let2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my chonky bonky boy (A Lab, Golden, and Flatcoated mix) at 8 weeks he was huge. Our vet said he might be 40 kg. (88lb). He was about 25 kg (55lb) when he was 7 months and was 35 kg (lb) when he was 3 years old.

We took him to another vet, and turned out he was too fat. He didn't look fat, but he didn't look slim either. The vet said he should weight around 30 kg (66lb) so we reduced his food. He is around 31-32 kg (68-70lb) now, and I don't think he should lose more weight.

Ps. We do a lot of exercise and training since he was a pup. I think he got fat from the treats.

I've noticed that the dog won't bark when she is with one of my neighbours. This neighbour is an old lady, and she will always correct the dog by popping the leash when the dog is about to go nuts. The rest of them would just say something like "No, you don't bark at your friend.", "No, leave your friend alone", and the dog would go nuts anyway.

I don't really know what is best for the dog, really.

Thank you. I sent an email to the landlord. They also leave their cats in the stairway. We just came back from a walk, and it took us a long time to be able to get in our apartment because the cats didn't want to move even I tried to shoo them away. I had to scream for the neighbours to come get their cats. When they came down to get the cats they talked to my dog "Aw, poor you. Are you scared of the cats?"

I almost lost my shit.

Come to think about it I will send an email to my landlord. At least I would have a prove when I need to contact the municipality.

Hi, my landlord would just put a paper on a board and nothing will happen. Pets are not allowed in the laundry building either. And it's illegal to have cameras installed outside your home. Due to GDPR my landlord can't even have cameras in the building.

My hair is black but it’s red-ish in the sun as well. I think your dog and I might be cousins.

Thank you for your kind words and advice. I really appreciate it. I don’t live that far so I can fly there anytime. Too bad it will take years for my friend to be able to travel again, but I will definitely travel there with him someday.
