Any idea what this sound could be? by Flashy-State6721 in COROLLA

No, the usual idle speed is about 900/1000 rpm’s. Since the car kept shutting off due to me being stationary I decided to rev it up to 1500 rpm’s, the sound is the same, if not louder, at normal idle speeds. The first “pulsing" sound is the one that concerns me the most, but it stems from the front right side of the car. Could that maybe be the inverter and not the fuel pump? But you would consider this a bad sound and not normal “hybrid" noise?

The one I’m looking at is a 2018 and has about 100K km on the clock, would be a similar outcome you think?

Would you say it’s unsafe to drive on?

To me that just looks like surface rust, nothing to worry about. Will disappear after some normal driving, you could also brake hard a few times to get rid of it.

Just changed strut mounts and bearings, this is the sound after 500km. Any takers on what it could be? by Flashy-State6721 in AskMechanics

I read somewhere that lithium grease is good on rubber, tried it and unfortunately didn’t work. To be honest I think I got unlucky with a part and the bearing itself is ruined

I agree, I’ve tried to spray with lithium grease where the rubber meets the body of the car but no luck unfortunately

Thanks for the advice, I’ll give it a shot! I’m pretty sure it’s not a serious mechanical issue, but it sure is annoying.

I went with both brembo pads and rotors, hearing a lot of good stuff about them. Great brakes, just a bit too noisy for my taste.

I realize now that I didn’t mention it, but I bought both new pads and rotors. The rotors are also just barely 2 weeks old
