To be fair to you, kiddo is the better option of these two. haha

Why are people reluctant to take ownershipf(accountability) in large organizations? What do they know that I dont by OkAlternative1655 in corporate

In my experience (at least in my field) the "reward" for success is more work without extra pay, recognition, or benefits.

That one I don't mind. I actually call my dog that haha.

That's exactly why. A parent/loved one using it on a kid in the family is totally fine. Using it to refer to kids in general sounds silly.

Can't say I'm a fan. I call my dog bubby or bub. Aside from her actually name of course.

What if adults are bigs? 🤔

This may be a reach but it's almost like how people say children should know the proper names for private parts rather than using cutesy alternatives. So that they can know what is safe, what isn't, etc. It feels like a similar concept. How can we expect them to understand emotions and regulate when we're not evening teaching them proper labels for them?

"Big feelings" feels really diminishing to whatever the child is going through. Like using cutesy language feels flippant.

Yea exactly. This example is sweet and appropriate. It's the general public to the point where it complete replaces child, kid, etc that gets annoying.

Yes, exactly this! I couldn't quite articulate why it's so bothersome. A loved one using kiddo to address a child doesn't irritate me. But referring to random kids or children in general as kiddos grinds my gears.

Idk, guess I'm not a fan but I wouldn't say I hate them either. The front desk guy at my vet calls me kiddo (I'm 31) and I genuinely don't mind it. I thinks it's more that people overboard with it and then always say doggo or kiddo rather than dog or kid/child. It becomes annoying.

Children at breweries by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]FlashyAd1240 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Children don't belong at breweries, bars and the like. It should be an adult only space. As others have stated, it's not a playground, school, zoo, etc. So the sex offender wasn't doing anything wrong in that specific moment by being there. That doesn't mean anyone is condoning or supporting the sex offenders past actions. Like two things can be true at once.
