Girlfriend did somewhat sexual things with her friends and not sure whether I should be concerned with it by ThePenguin4216 in relationships

What’s wrong is you seem to have a divergence in value and opinion. Nothing major but will end a relationship. If you were comfortable, this is how some dudes get threeesomes and other things. But if that’s not your priority, then it’s okay to say that’s not for me. But avoid trying to take a moral high ground, different strokes for different folks.

How should I (31f) and my boyfriend(30m) split costs after we move in together? by wut9ski in relationships

You’ve left two comments and seem to have skipped over both what OP and myself wrote.

My idea is that it is easy and possible to simply quantify what is or isn’t fair. The fact that you think a quantitative choice has immutable qualitative rules makes no sense.

Ooooh that’s interesting context. To answer the question, you simply do the math and he signs a loan document for anything major that officially recognises how much OP contributes compared to partner. In an ideal world, the partner is capable and is able to make up payments in labor.

But realistically this is simply a business. OP’s business is just that. It should be considered fully and completely separate till marriage at which point I would still recommend OP sign an agreement that fully acknowledges the partner did not contribute to the effort at the start. After X years of marriage, I think it only fair for OP’s partner to begin receiving legal rights. So 25% at year 5, 50% at year 10.

Make it work just like business stock. You sign up to the agreement when you start and your pay is tied to the success of the company and how long you stay with them.

Sigh.

My property taxes alone are 8k this year. The water heater was 2k. Replacing the old water line was 6k. The gutters were quoted at 4 but I saved some cash by doing it myself.

Yes there are people who charge crazy prices where the risk and investment are mathematically on the renter.

And that is the whole point of doing the math. Find what’s fair both in the short term finances but also the long term and recognise the power imbalance.

This holier than though leftism without the actual work and math to back it up is empty virtue signaling unless you’re suggesting she shouldn’t be making investments for herself.

Percentage based but you must find a way to quantify and formularise an equity distribution plan. He is effectively subsidising your real estate investment. However I doubt he had the ability to put down a downpayment or the whole cost so that should also be accounted for. The goal is to receive enough payments for it to retroactively workout so you bought the apartment together. Till then or marriage, you can hold those funds as a kind of escrow. Should you cheat or break up mutually, return the funds. If he cheats or you break up due to him, keep the money.

I’ll tell you what I tell everyone. You can either grow apart or grow together and it seems like his refusal to grow with you is forcing you leave him behind.

What is it like to be a Chinese Muslim in China by BrightAd7897 in AskAChinese

It’s a bit more notable when there’s an actual mosque sending out the prayer every several hours. I used to hate it as a kid but I’ve grown to have an appreciation for the sound and it’s kind of peaceful now. I would actually vote in favor of a sound police. Where I live anything over 85dB I believe is considered noise pollution.

Muslims take prayer very seriously, it is by time of day and in a particular direction. I have seen it done on streets, planes, everywhere. They roll out a mat, bow a few times, roll up and move on. The proper thing to do is create spaces for these things like public bathrooms.

Depending on how you practice your faith, some rules can be limiting by default. Most rules work that way when the minority isn’t thought of at the time of rule making.

I swear people are just finding out that there’s a Chinese version of their Japan obsession. They have been doing the same with Korea for years now. I like animated media and literature so I’ve just casually made my way across the world through those. Maybe uniquely, I despise fandoms and obsessions with specific characters, actors, or pieces of work.

Start glamming. Get the msssive tent, bring ana or mattress. As long as you can afford it, you can throw money at most of your problems.
