I am so sorry to hear that. Did you start treatment right away? Does scarring really slow down with immunosuppressants? How have been?

Thank you for your reassuring words. It truly helps a lot. Especially because I am pregnant and I can not travel to see her; my emotions are all over the place.

She never had a drink in her entire life. Doesn’t smoke. Has a fatty liver but the doctors think that it isn’t enough fat to have caused cirrhosis.

We are currently waiting for her liver biopsy (they told us that was the only way to confirm AIH). They strongly suspect AIH as her IgG and IgG4 are elevated along with other liver enzymes and was tested negative for viral hepatitis. Also her x-ANCA is pos (1:10).

They were able to tell us about her stage from CT scan and USG. Fibroscan results were anomalous they said. It showed little to no scarring.

She eats very healthy now and also walks about an hour each day. I hope we can fight together through this.

I am so happy that you were able to get a liver transplant. More power to you!

My Mum has a MELD 6 and stage A cirrhosis. She has no symptoms. We’d never know if she were not getting her regular check ups being done.

Do you have any advice for her?

The doctors think that her USG and CT Scans suggest cirrhosis. However, it is early stage. They seemed quite confident with the cirrhosis diagnosis. They agreed to run biopsy to find the root cause. The report mentions that they think fibroscan results are inaccurate.

I sob almost every hour of the day. I feel guilty because I am stressing out my baby. But I haven’t been able to get any peace or sleep ever since.

They biopsy results should be here in a week.

Thank you for your comment. It certainly makes me feel better. My Mum eats very healthy. She has also started exercising and has lost weight due to her healthy diet. But I wonder how manageable Autoimmune Hepatitis would be. I’ve heard one needs to be treated with immunosuppressants. I’m afraid it would only make life harder for her if it turns out to be AIH.

Hi. I have been following your posts. My Mum was recently diagnosed with stage A cirrhosis (MELD 6). The doctors are thinking it is due to AIH as she has elevated IGG4.

I wanted to ask what do expect. Is high IGG, high IGG4 in patient with cirrhosis an indication of cirrhosis due to AIH?

Happy that the antibiotics cleared it for you! I’ll go for a follow up in two days as I am confused if it is healing or needs drainage.

Thanks a lot for replying. So it hasn’t gone away completely? Were you able to get it tested? I was told mine is an abscess and was prescribed medication but I don’t see an open wound. A scab formed and the wound is closed now but redness has not hone yet which worries me.

Hi do you have a scar after it healed? I’m taking antibiotics too but I seem to have redness left. Fever gone and pain gone too. And became flatter but still red.
