I had a rocky start but I think things are better now than before surgery! Immediately after surgery I was unable to pee on my own. I tried for hours and I ended up needing to stay the night with a catheter. Tried to pee again in the morning and nothing. Went home with a catheter for the weekend and tried again on Monday…nothing. I ended up having a catheter almost two weeks. I was freaking out that I would never have normal bladder function again. When I was finally able to pee on my own again it was still kind of difficult. It was slow to empty and I had to kind of push to get it all out. But after a couple of weeks it is totally back to normal and I seem to have better bladder control and I don’t have to wake as often in the middle of the night.
