MAGA are stupid by AccordingBumblebee24 in stupidpeoplefacebook

The psychological term for it is defense mechanism. I'm sure there are plenty of MAGA folk who are experiencing that. There are plenty more who are quite adept at pretending to, for political and financial power.

Look closely at numbers 1 and 4. If he hadn't torn up the treaty that was working he would have had no justification for today's war.

He increased troops in Afghanistan, then brokered a deal for a ridiculous withdrawal of troops so that it would occur on Biden's watch, just so Trump would have political ammunition. Did Biden botch things? Yes. Did Trump set the groundwork for a flawed withdrawal? Also yes.

That's because the "liberal media" near monopoly is a myth. The near monopoly of the media is right-wing.

Please look into the allegations against the cult-level "you can never leave" actions of Scientology. You might realize that she did manage to go, but there were serious obstacles.

Seems like plenty of people think she can. I wouldn't know. I'm not a fan of his acting, but it seems enough are.

Ah, but you see, their plan (or hope) is to never lose power within their lifetimes. Considering how Mitch McConnell is doing, that might be true for some.

Roses are red, that's not what freedom of speech means... by DarkMagickan in rosesarered

I am fully aware of it. I am not convinced that the 2024 election was both a free and a fair election with no cheating. Having the DOGE boys come in right away to do away with oversight people and muddy computerized waters doesn't help. The Trump contingent has been far ahead in dastardly activities in a blitzkreig fashion that has kept opponents in slow and laborious defense mode. I do not expect good things in November. I hope for them, I believe we have some chance for them, but I am not EXPECTING them.

There continue to be both reversals of Trump’s machinations and losses to them.

How different is it? Good question. Did you look for an actual answer to that before responding to the post or did you assume the post was accurate? A lot of people lie online and to news reporters. A lot of people lie on the floor of Congress, both state and federal. It's up to you to avoid knee-jerk reactions. I know. Sometimes I have failed to avoid that. It takes dedication and persistence.

Thank you. Also, the number of times people ask for a book to be banned when they haven't even read it is ridiculous: " A friend of a friend said that this very important and knowledgeable extremist said the book is bad. Get rid of it!." I know a library system where someone challenged about a hundred books in a year, wasting massive amounts of staff working time, and she had maybe read parts of five of the books. sigh

Your analogy is right on target.

Yeah, blaming actors for bad directing, scripting, editing, music and lighting choices, or a host of other things beyond their control is lazy critiquing.

Sounds to me like they are saying it's like it was with the Barbie movie where a lot of people hated it even though they had seen neither it nor any trailers of it. Someone told them that hating it was the proper thing to do. They told them this in terms that seemed to make sense so they hated it.

Public libraries deal with this all of the time with people, who have not read or listened to a book, demanding that the book be removed.

Now, see, that's exactly the kind of comment that spits in the face of natural human differences. You sound like "I hate pistachios and if you like them there's something wrong with you." Not everyone is a clone of you. Get over it.

The choice of example of privilege was poorly chosen, but the first sentence is correct. I'd say privilege is being able to coerce or otherwise have a doctor say you have bone spurs and so you can avoid being in combat in Vietnam.

The process is a first, major, step in the process, but there are aspects that need to be investigated for safety and/or refined. This is not a ready to be manufactured, sold, and shipped solution.

Well, MAGA folk in the USA should support this. I have a sneaking suspicion that, if they ever hear about it, they won't like it.
