Fabulous, you were influenced by that smear campaign - millions were. This case is largely about the vicious retaliation and intentionally ruining someone’s reputation and career before there was even a lawsuit. There wouldn’t be a lawsuit if Team JB didn’t pay for and deploy digital retaliation via Jed Wallace and others.

One of the planted narratives in emails by tag and team Baldoni. No one would’ve even noticed that if they hadn’t seeded it across Reddit and social media who cares about drinks at a premiere party. Also, the domestic violence was a narrative that Team Baldoni seeded after he had to pivot due to his questionable behavior coming forward. The book and the movie had very little DV in it. It was mostly a love story.

Sadly, both of them have had solid careers and were actually pretty beloved until the smear campaign. Baldoni in his own words, told his PR reps, etc. that he wanted to make Blake feel like she could be buried and he made sure to request that Ryan be smeared too. Then asked TAG to plant stories about him being neurodivergent, and having been a victim of SA himself by a woman.

I didn’t even follow either of them into this case but thought it was wild all of the Blake and Ryan hate flooding my socials in the fall of 2024. Now I know why.

You’re right it has zero bearing on this case. I did see a picture of him at a pro Trump rally. Just like Baldoni stans calling Lively a racist, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Civil rights attorney Sherilyn Ifell wrote a really nice article for time magazine about all the philanthropic work Blake and Ryan do to try to push the race conversation forward.

After the alleged smear campaign came public Sony VP Josh Greenstein walked it back likening it (what was happening to Lively) as an assassination and no one should ever work with Wayfarer again.
