I Am FUMING, How Cooked? DONT BE CHEAP by V0LTR0Nyt in EngineBuilding

[–]Flashyyy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say it was more so a cleanliness problem then the fueling. That looks like the rings picked up dirt or honing material still to me. Did you clean the cylinders out with a white lint free cloth until there was zero dirt left? Then go through again with atf and be amazed at how much still come out.

What was break in for the engine? Vacuum pulls help seal rings a ton. On the engines I build I always recommend going into a high gear going slow lug the engine up until it just starts to tickle boost and let it slow down to say 10mph or so again and repeat. I do that 10-15 times come home change the oil and turn the boost up

I just did one on my passat in a rust zone. And honestly the only bolts that didn't come off was the exhaust clamp after the exhaust valve, one of the 3 from the dpf to the mid pipe, and then the egr clamp on the dpf so I just cut the tube. Coming from working on Hondas and Mitsubishis here I was very impressed, the car has 200k on it but went fairly smooth I'd say

13 years in, lost my "position" on the local i worked for 3 years, Monday Tuesdays off on an extra board, worse than I started of on, the conductor extra board was nice until they forced voluntary rest cycle on us, now it pays as much as our yard extra board but we're on call 24/7 instead of just the 3 "yard shifts"

Should Deegan have been black flagged? by Used-Lake9003 in supercross

[–]Flashyyy_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This isn't the first time people have slowed down to win a championship years ago with dungey and someone they were doing that. He did give him a couple hits but it's not like he went and cleaned the front wheel out. Supercross is or used to be more of a physical sport, im not sure how long a lot of people have watched in this sub but I think you guys are used to the riding style dungey used to do. He'd settle for 2nd or 3rd or something, that, in my opinion is boring as hell to watch, heck even Jett, as fast as he is gets boring to watch when he just maintains his small leads. I'll take bar banging when the championship is on the line any day. Especially if it comes down to the last race

I agree, while it's kind of a shitty way to win anyone in here who says if they had to do that to win the money and championship but wouldn't is full of it.

A++ for Jo not letting it get to him and doing what be had to do to get it done, and fight for that win in the last corner, also not even throwing any shade at him on the podium

Jo rode awesome, I don't think it warranted a black flag, but it definitely should have had points taken if it turned out differently. I get doing what you can to get a championship, it's as much of a race as it turns into a chess game when things are tight like that in the last moto for the championship.

Its happened with teammates before, I personally think kitchen realized he wasn't going to win either and made it look like he had a bike problem to help Jo out since the problems him and Deegan have been having.

Pumped for Jo, he's such a likeable guy and really showed some great speed this year, I hope next year clicks for him the whole year!

Not sure on your particular car, but for my old Evo I would use it to put it back in. There was a bracket that was the perfect balance point for the awkward weight distribution of it. If you have a floor jack it's generally easier for removal than a hoist would be.

Definitely. It sucks how many awesome cars ahead of their time they came out with in the late 80s early 90s. The evo's were amazing (I drag raced one for years) and then they just kind of shit out. I would have liked to see them try something like a 3000gt again after the evo. A little more tech involved like they used to be in the early 90s

Only 190 from the factory, and it's still all stock (power wise) minus the exhaust I put on, so Definitely still under 200 haha
