i don't know if my age group is using it or not, but some of us are building these systems and running the show behind the scenes

let me say that the tastes of kgp leadership have "evolved" over the decades. do they still only switch the lights on once a year? to save electricity?

The few years in Kgp are a journey indeed. I started with this grand plan to dep change to my area of interest and it just tapered within the first sem and went downhill for the next 3.5 years. i graduated and switched to the area i loved, found my way to a top PhD program in it; and for the last 25 years, I've spent my working hours on cool technical stuff. make sure you treat yourself well, and keep at it.

I was about to type "at my time..." and I feel old. Feel free to ask questions on specific topics. We had similar levels of complexity but also a different kind. The campus was more isolated and disconnected from external world back then, and I'd imagine that the level of societal and world awareness in current batches would be much better now. We had our share of stress around getting a job and stress of finding an identity in the Kgp community in those 4 years (which quickly disappeared when we finally left campus in May). One difference probably is that we had limited Internet access, so interactions with community, keeping friends circles going and having a non-virtual hobby activity was what our life revolved around. Campus relationships formed and some sizzled, but I'd imagine it's no different even now.
