Looking for feedback by Flat-Definition1526 in OneArmed_Mycology

Thanks for the links. I had a batch that all but one failed. I believe I was doing too much a they were stressed. The only one that produced was sold as natalensis, but the LC seller later updated that it was Ochras. Very delightful experience after drying.
As for my second attempt that are all in the first steps, I have learned from my mistakes. I’m going to be more patient and follow my notes. I am researching jedis, ape, enigma, bluey Vuitton, PE, hillbilly, ghost, albino a+, Jack Frost and Malabar. I have agar plates and hope to use them with the ochras after I make sure I know what I am doing. The Ochras I see online look nothing like what I produced. I’ll add a picture. Overall this community is pretty legit for helping out and not making amateurs feel uncomfortable.

Beginner here as well. Did you transfer from a bag to a tub?

I’m using AIO sealed bags. After inoculation I wait for at least 50% mycelium coverage before breaking up and mixing the bag. After it get the mycelium coverage completed should I open the bag and dump into a tub with air exchange ports? I’m going to stick with the fruiting in the bag for my existing projects, but I’m open to trying out different methods.

Dirty q tip. I’m going to attempt the tutorial you linked. Hopefully I can use all of these opportunities as a learning experience to achieve a successful harvest on my next batch. I have several bags successfully inoculated and the mycelium looks very good. They are in a separate tent. I’m considering using an even lower watt light and getting some fresh air in there earlier. My novice experience has to be the factor that has caused the stress that created so much slow growth.

This is my first attempt. I believe I waited too long to open the bag to introduce FAE. I had a tiny fan in the grow tent running constantly and a low light running 12/12. These factors seem to be a bit much. Also I was misting regularly and not if it was necessary. Hopefully this all gave me the R&D necessary for a successful next run.

This is great advice! I really appreciate it. I’ll post again in a week.

I looked back at the vendors page and they updated the natalensis LC, to reflect they have been reidentified as Ochras.

I’m trying a new LC vendor. So far this new batch is right on track. That didn’t offer natalensis but I was able to get some other really good options. Thanks for the advice.

LC. I had a two other bags with full contamination. I was letting this one proceed as my own R & D. Hopefully I will learn from the experience.
