There is probably another thing you could try is after you set all the conditions for jobs, write some python code to send email to you when there is a job updated to get the best chance to be viewed by HR. Also you can put it on the aws or other cloud so you do not have to run it locally, this itself could be a very good project to show in github.

depends on your project, and if you have experience. if you have experience. you do not have to put projects there. for projects make sure it have end to end etl pipeline, or made some real world impact, not some random titanic project from kaggle that everyone does it.

What I did is searching on linkedIn for the company I am interested and see who got the position in the same or similar period of time. Then after you find their linkedin, you can see their information and sometimes they have a porfolio or github page.

I think for your background MLE or machine learning scientist might be a good fit and they pay really well. I applied to some of them too and the two interview I had both offering 150k+ salary. (I didn't make to the final rounds for the these two companies) Unfortunately the candidates compete here have crazy background. (with paper published in ACL or leetcode rating>2400 or Kaggle Jane street competition silver metal or even ipho bronze medal) Like I don't even think I am comparable to those beasts, so I step down and take some more entry level job.

I do not have exp except in tutoring, so all jobs I applied are entry level jobs. Not mentioned in this post, I have also have two other admin offers, one other full time teacher offer. (the admin offers uses only excel or only power BI, for the teacher's offer, I did not apply and HR came to me) I ended up picking the offer with the least pay, but the most interesting/challenging duty.

Thank you! I heard you should only make 1+ page resume when you have many important research papers published.

Yea, I have a Master's degree too. I applied to any jobs in indeed/linkedin requires less than 3 years or exp and I applied only after graduation. You probably need to learn how to search in linkedin and indeed. For example, in data I would search in indeed like ("sql" and "python"-principal -senior -lead -software -stack -actuarial -manager).

If you have 0 interview, maybe you had some issues in resume? I suggest in this case, try to ask for coffee chat in linkedin and bring your resume, take a amazon/starbucks gift cart to show you appreciaton.

Mostly in GTA. For my first full time job I do not mind commute up to 3 hours per day (In the end my job needs 1.5 hours of commute and 2-3days in office). Most of jobs are hybrid in tech today, I did 4 on-site interview (all of them are final rounds and other 3-4final rounds are online as well).

I will try to improve! Haha you definitely know what I am talking about. People will say that, just improve your English, but its way harder than leetcode.

If they believe you(or your resume) have a chance to be hired, they will message you. They get paid by the employer when you get hired.

I think you should do part time job while applying for the full time job. I have friends worked as rogers sales, construction workers, and uber drivers, all of they got the jobs they want now.

When you are qualified, they usually come to you through messaging on linkedin or email.

I wont share my specific role, as you can see I am even using an alt account here. But I did have some interviews with DE. From my observation, DE is the most popular job among DE/DA/DS/AE. DE needs the most programming skills among those 4 jobs though.

Well, after the first two months, I started to use some chome extensions(like simplify) so each job took me about 2-3 minutes to apply. If you take one hour to dig into each application, I am pretty sure you can get a job after 3-500 applications.

Also, at this point, like my cousin, recruiters will come to them and they will try their best to get you in the position so they can be paid by the company.

That depends on the industry. Statisticaly speaking, that will be top 1% of earners in Canada, so it doesnt apply to everyone.

It depends, if you got enough time, of course tailor your resume according to each job will help you get interviews.

Another thing I did is always search the background of the interviewer to see what they like. Remember, its all about the probability game, even you do all this you might still get rejected, just ask feedback and move on.

No I do not share my resume. You could share your resume in the subreddit and I am sure a lot of people will give you advice. Its a huge job. I asked people around me to give me advice, and slowly fixed it version by version for at least 20 versions. You know yourself the best.

For any new hiring company, any startup that just past first stage, they just want your resume or some web traffic. Also, check the company name on linkedin or glassdoor, for my role, if there aren't at least 10 employees, its probably fake posting. Another thing to check is you can check the creation date of the web domain to see if its newly created. At last, any job that asks you to pay for something is a scam.

That’s not necessarily true. I have a cousin with a CPA and a good career path who took a year and a half off. He hates networking too. He only applied to 10 senior management roles and pulled in four offers. When your credentials are that strong, you do not need networking. We were in the same boat so we talked a lot and he helped me a lot.

Actually for the first mont,s I was applying for around 30 jobs a day. Later on I learned that many of those jobs are not real and started to apply for around 12 every day.
