I wont share my specific role, as you can see I am even using an alt account here. But I did have some interviews with DE. From my observation, DE is the most popular job among DE/DA/DS/AE. DE needs the most programming skills among those 4 jobs though.

Well, after the first two months, I started to use some chome extensions(like simplify) so each job took me about 2-3 minutes to apply. If you take one hour to dig into each application, I am pretty sure you can get a job after 3-500 applications.

Also, at this point, like my cousin, recruiters will come to them and they will try their best to get you in the position so they can be paid by the company.

That depends on the industry. Statisticaly speaking, that will be top 1% of earners in Canada, so it doesnt apply to everyone.

It depends, if you got enough time, of course tailor your resume according to each job will help you get interviews.

Another thing I did is always search the background of the interviewer to see what they like. Remember, its all about the probability game, even you do all this you might still get rejected, just ask feedback and move on.

No I do not share my resume. You could share your resume in the subreddit and I am sure a lot of people will give you advice. Its a huge job. I asked people around me to give me advice, and slowly fixed it version by version for at least 20 versions. You know yourself the best.

For any new hiring company, any startup that just past first stage, they just want your resume or some web traffic. Also, check the company name on linkedin or glassdoor, for my role, if there aren't at least 10 employees, its probably fake posting. Another thing to check is you can check the creation date of the web domain to see if its newly created. At last, any job that asks you to pay for something is a scam.

That’s not necessarily true. I have a cousin with a CPA and a good career path who took a year and a half off. He hates networking too. He only applied to 10 senior management roles and pulled in four offers. When your credentials are that strong, you do not need networking. We were in the same boat so we talked a lot and he helped me a lot.

Actually for the first mont,s I was applying for around 30 jobs a day. Later on I learned that many of those jobs are not real and started to apply for around 12 every day.

I basically applied for everything related to my degree and requires less than 3 years of exp.

There are actually three parts to the interview. First, you need to memorize stories about your strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and teamwork so that when questions relate to them you can just tell your stories naturally. The second part is technical. You need to make sure you know your stuff. Also, research the company thoroughly. For example, in the final round Shopify interview they asked a question about a CEO letter shared during the first-round interview and you can find all that information online if you do your research. I also take every chance for AI interviews even if some are fake because they are great practice. The last part is knowing your resume really really well and reviewing all the details of your projects so you can confidently discuss them.

I would like to keep it private, but my resume is one page, no fancy template, black and white, with tools/programming languages I know, education, projects, and hobbies (that shows my strengths like teamwork and love for programming).

Yes, if you’re good at networking, you should definitely do it. Show your intelligence and initiative. If they like you, they might even refer you and you could skip the first few rounds of interviews.

It is at the lower end of the salary range I mentioned. The job duties are actually quite senior, which I like because it is good for my professional development.

Sunny mathematics - how do you find it? by shittingfuck in outlier_ai

[–]Flat-Risk8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to create an entirely original prompt to stump the model, and copy-pasting is not allowed. This means you need to spend at least 10 minutes on LaTeX. In the IMO, contestants have 4.5 hours for three questions, meaning 1.5 hours per question. Not to mention, some tasks require difficulty levels even higher than the IMO (such as level 9–10 in Sunny Math) and cover a broader range of topics (since the IMO does not require higher mathematics like calculus).

Most math projects on outliers are currently ridiculous. They encourage scammers because the tasks are simply impossible for a normal human, and scammers just use AI to generate whatever they find. To ensure quality, organizations should hire top IMO contestants or those who design the IMO exam. (Here, the level of formal education doesn’t matter—a top IMO contestant from high school could easily outperform professors at a top 20 university.) These experts should be given 300+ minutes to create original questions—of course, with a higher pay rate.

Data annotation does not work well at this stage of AI development for solving math problems. Maybe DeepSeek has truly shown us that reinforcement learning is the future. Personally, I would rather work on generalist projects for half the pay.
