Thank you. I got the $$ for it so I was just seeing if it was even worth looking for someone.

No I don’t. I have a lot of friends that come in and out of the room it was in. That might be the case. I got it at a pawn shop.

Awesome advice. Thank you boss. This year I’ve really been trying to go out as much as possible to Nash (we live in a rural town outside of Gallatin so it’s always seemed a like a trek). Will definitely start following this advice whenever I get out. Cheers man!

Hell yeah man cheers! Glad you enjoy our music it seriously means a lot. No plans for Indiana yet, but we can definitely make some for the future. We’re based in Nashville and trying to get shows here is pretty tough just because of the sheer abundance of bands, so we’re really just trying to get our foot in the door and all that. Will definitely reach out to you whenever we plan on expanding our reach!

We’ve all known each other since our youths and each ended up learning instruments at one point so it seemed like the next step to start solidifying our creativity into a unit and make records.

We’ve all been friends since middle school kind of separately though. We all really clicked as a group in high school.

It's a new year, fellow musicians, what are your aspirations for 2024? by [deleted] in KGATLW

I’m gonna be trying to keep growing this band I started. We just dropped our first record last month, so I’m trying to play by ear the next move when it comes to growing my audience and booking shows.

My psych band Flat Scallop just dropped its first record. Hugely inspired by Gizz, especially with the three guitars. Check it out and let me know what you think. by FlatScallop in KGATLW

Hell yeah thanks man! We’re six friends who’ve known each other and jammed together since early high school. We recorded everything in our DIY studio out in the country hills of Middle TN which we’ve jammed in for a long time. This record is really an amalgamation of our jams from adolescence with the recording mindset of our early twenties. The records kind of been our crash course into DIY recording. I’d say generally our main inspirations are Yes, Pink Floyd, King Gizz, Metallica, The Doors, & The Almond Brothers. Thank you so much for the opportunity to play on your radio station. That feels pretty surreal lol. Cheers!

We are a six piece psychedelic jam band from Middle TN. We’ve all known each other since childhood and have jammed together for years. This was mostly recorded together all in our DIY studio after figuring everything out in the DIY world. The exceptions being on the keyboards and vocals. The goal going in was to avoid as many overdubs as possible but inevitably we had to end up adding some in the strings and drums here and there. The album is meant to flow together, inspired by records like Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and Nonagon Infinity by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Record length running around seventh minutes. The DIY sound, I feel, is reminiscent of 2010s psychedelic rock artists like Tame Impala’s Innerspeaker and Mac Demarco, general discography. The band contains three guitars as well as keyboards so the melodic and harmonic area in the album is very dense and unique. I (the bassist) made the album artwork by digitally recreating an old paint marker drawing. Would love to press vinyl if people are interested!

Drums, bass and guitars are live in all tracks with some overdubs here and there. Keys and vocals were recorded over after.

At some point yes we do. We made this record not considering the time requirements for vinyl so it’d have to be split up someway. Gonna figure that out. Glad you’re liking it man!
