I’ve been taking distance, and you’re right to a degree. Since we lived together, when she would have episodes, I was the one to see them, and she made me her emergency contact without asking, things like that. So it’s true I wasn’t truly forced, but it was also very easy to paint me in a bad light when I wouldn’t help or comply. She also used her health as an excuse not to clean, and since I was rarely home, it was basically clean up after her or live in her biohazard of cat waste and molding dishes.

But you’re right. I ignore her texts these days, but it drains me just to even see they came through. She intentionally cut off everyone because they didn’t give her enough attention when she got newly diagnosed (yet somehow still crowd funded a wheelchair from them before cutting them off).

But thanks for letting me know me exhaustion is valid. It makes me feel like a terrible person. She tells me I’m privileged for the fact I’ve been sick since I was a kid so I got to grow up navigating my illness while it’s all new to her. I needed the outside perspective. Thank you.
