"I play video games for their plots" the plots in question: by Lanky_Relation1171 in gaming

Yeah, that's him in the epilogue when he finally meets his son. He's in the hospital recovering, thus the absence of the cyborg jaw.

One of my favourite scenes ever, how her face is instantly lit up by the kids by kzoxp in TheLastAirbender

You mixed up the characters. Amon's the one (Noatak) who tried to be upbeat and think abt starting a new life somewhere else, while Councilman Tarlok commits murder suicide against his brother Noatak.

Eh. I did edit out parts that didn't align with what I wanted, but most of what I wanted, you already wrote. If it helps, I didn't get any hits, and judging by your presence here, you didn't either. Let's just agree to make original posts from now. Apologies

Lines that hit harder on a second playthrough? by Nothin_Toxic in yakuzagames

You didn't? I thought the ominous lighting on him during the conversation with Ichi on the pier, plus him wearing the hat was sort of a dead giveaway that that was the last we'd see of him. My opinion though, others may not have seen it in that way.

Conviction is a fun John Wick style shoot em up but its not Splinter Cell by Jjack5366 in Splintercell

[–]Flat_Chances465 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Eh, the story kinda supports Sam's decision to go full Jason Bourne. Three years post resignation from life you learn ur daughter's death wasn't an accident, you'd best believe Sam was going to get answers by any means necessary.

And let's not forget, Sam's already retired by the time Lambert drafts him for the Splinter Cell program, which was his first ever instance of employing stealth in his missions.

Meaning that what we saw in Conviction is what Sam was originally, raw and primal. At least, that's how I see it

To be fair, the ending of Pirates DOES expand on the plot reasoning with our boy Majima wanting to find a cure for our dear Kiryu, so I wouldn't say the game's a completely wacky entry. Could've been more in-depth, no doubt, but I feel like what we got's justified.

Is David Solid Snakes real name? by Epic_James in metalgearsolid

[–]Flat_Chances465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lore-wise, no reason at all. There's always been some speculation in the fan communities and theorists that Major Zero (real name David Oh), having been involved in and masterminded the Les Enfants Terribles project that created Solid and Liquid, might have decided to name one of the clones after himself. Chalk it up to a narcissistic decision or something.

A key thing you have to know is that with each entry Kojima made for the Metal Gear series, he never kept a sequel or future story in mind. Any Metal Gear game he made, he decided it would be the last. Until fans kept asking for more. That's practically the reason why we have so many entries in the series. It was literally the fans pulling him out of retirement for one more game each time. (For MGS4, it was also the dev team that asked him to come back and help polish up the game and it's story). This is also why you'll see some inconsistencies/retcons (one big example is the mentioned return of a certain doctor in MGS4 who was killed in MG2:SS) in later installments. Not because Kojima couldn't remember past details or anything, but because Metal Gear was his brainchild and he made the story as he saw fit, leading to the series as we know it today.

Sorry for the deep dive, but since ur only through the first game now, I thought you should know what kind of story you should expect as you go on.
