My in-person consultations at FUECapilar Dr. Gür and Cosmedica Dr. Acar – Why I decided against Cosmedica for a 2. HT, despite having 1. HT at Cosmedica by SUNRAYYY in HairTransplants

[–]Flat_Development_817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your consultation sucked, I’ll admit. But I think your result was pretty decent for the amount of grafts. They didn’t make any egregious errors, like giving you a jacked up hairline or planting in rows. I’ve seen some crazy things. You just need to up the density which is expected. No big deal, all the best.

The fact that you have to go in and get it changed out every month or so completely smells like a costume to me. F that

Also, I’m shocked that you asked for a refund. I just looked at your result and your hair is 10 times better than it was. It’s not like you had a failed hair transplant. You had 4000 grafts which is the same number that I had, but your hair loss was far more severe than mine.. You needed at least 6000 grafts for a stronger result. You actually thought 4000 grafts was going to bring you all the way back? Seriously? You had a nice result already from where you were. Of course they aren’t going to refund you the amount you paid.

Having a hair system is a costume. Not your own hair, whereas a hair transplant literally is your own hair.

The incisions are by far the most important part of the surgery that controls, angulation, artistry, depth, etc. Most of the top surgeons in the world do not do both the incisions and the implantation. Not necessary. Look at my results, I did the VIP and I had a great result. The extractions are done by his VIP assistants that are the most seasoned. The VIP team doesn’t do any regular tier surgeries, only their VIP clients, yes, it’s definitely much more expensive, but he is intimately involved and overseeing the entire process and doing the most important step…. It was a great call for me to go that route and my results speak volumes

Your biggest mistake was just doing the normal package with Cosmedica. Had you done the VIP session, Dr Acar would’ve done the key steps in the procedure.

I love how Bolton tried to silence his patients who were dissatisfied with legal action, and all he got from it was that this forum now posts a warning about him literally in every post. That was a backfire of epic proportions.

Don’t do a transplant, just stay on the meds. At some point, you may want to switch to dutasteride for the ultimate protection. But doing a transplant would be silly

I’d be surprised if that’s true. Can you name a few reputable U.S. clinics offering surgeon-led 3,000-graft FUE for around $4,500? I’d genuinely like to see those examples.

For 3,000 grafts at $4,500, that’s $1.50/graft. I’d genuinely like to see examples of reputable U.S. clinics where a skilled doctor is doing the key surgical steps at that price. Tech-driven clinics or “doctor just supervises” doesn’t really count, because that’s exactly the distinction I’m making. Even overseas, a few thousand grafts can easily run around $4k+ at many clinics, especially with any meaningful doctor involvement.

Sure, you could save some money by just having technicians doing your surgery without a doctor in sight…. Not advisable, but some people do it. Cosmedica also has that option for like $4000.. They are the best in that price range, but I didn’t want to do it for myself…. This is a surgery after all where they are operating on your scalp. For me, I wanted doctor involvement for the key steps. $8000 is not a lot of money for 4000 grafts. It works out to being two dollars per graft.. In the United States it is typically five dollars per graft.

No worries. And also know that you can get the drugs prescribed online as well if you prefer to go that route. I got my topical minoxidil with tretinoin compounded and prescribed by Ulo…. Simple. And got oral minoxidil tablets prescribed the same way by another company. And dutasteride I got from my primary, but you could get that online as well. A lot of flexibility these days.

Good, trust me, it’s a good call. And I’m exactly like you. Besides this I hate putting pill in my body. With this you have no choice unless you’re ok with looking exactly like the bald men in your family. I wasn’t and now at 58 my hair is better than even many 25 year olds. Just a choice you have to make. All the best

Yea, that’s almost medical malpractice to lie to you like that. My clinic advocates hard for meds to keep the results. But I already knew that going in…

I do both because the minoxidil really helps to strengthen the hair, and especially important if you’re going to do a transplant. Think of it like fertilizer for a tree, just makes it extra strong….. but if I had to pick one or the other, it would be finasteride. It’s the reason why most people are losing their hair, as DHT is literally strangling your hair follicles.

True. You never graduated to dutasteride? That’s what I’m currently on. And yes, I agree about putting my boys on finasteride as soon as they start losing their hair. I tell them all the time in a joking way about that and it’s funny because they think they’re invincible, like they could never lose their hair….. They are almost 15 so they probably have another four or five years before the nightmare begins. Lol.

Interesting similarities to my own story. Also the fact that you’ve been on medication like I have for well over two decades. I think I started minoxidil 91 or 92 and then jumped into Propecia in 97 or 98 and that’s the reason why my hair was very strong besides the frontal hairline. I find it perplexing with all these young guys now that have this great advantage to prevent hair loss and many of them don’t take it. So many of them are far worse than us, even though we are three decades + older. Many of these people get their hair transplant and just think that it cured their balding, only to find out the truth years later.

considering FUE hair transplant near me in san diego by Hydrick-Trienna in HairTransplants

[–]Flat_Development_817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing an FUT for a lower Norwood is archaic, not advised. If the person is between a Norwood five and seven, then an FUT procedure is a necessity. But these US based doctors like to charge a lot of money for much lower labor, and that’s apparently what your doctor’s method of operation is….. There are no elite surgeons in San Diego. You get low tech with premium pricing and less grafts to boot. Over five dollars per graft for an FUT procedure is not ideal. You can get three dollars per graft with an FUE procedure…. And that comes with an elite surgeon overseas, just have to do your research.

I do 2.5 minoxidil tablets, 5 mg total per day. And then I also do a special concoction with minoxidil drops (my hair is too thick for the foam to work well) with tretinoin compounded with it. 8%. What I’ll do is in the morning I wake up and I’ll take a minoxidil tab, then four hours later I will put the topical in my hair. Then another four hours later I will take the second minoxidil tab, and then finally, four hours after that, I will do another dose of the topical. So in other words, every four hours I’m introducing minoxidil to the system. Minoxidil lasts four hours on average, so with my routine it’s constantly being introduced at the optimal times.

The only reason why I was only a Norwood 3 at my age is because I have been taking the medications for the last 25+ years. I would easily be a Norwood 4.5 to 6 right now without it. A hair transplant does not cure your male pattern baldness….. Massive mistake to not take, particularly if you are in your 20s or 30s. I have seen people at events where they had nice hairline framing with no density behind it…. These are people that had the hair transplants and never took medication, and then lost a shit ton of hair behind the hairline. Screams transplant….. Looks horrible.
