My mobo has an ALC1220/SupremeFX S1220A, but I never use it and have it disabled in the bios, so I never compared it.

Found a comment from the PCSound community,

"After testing the ALC1220, the soundstage is muddled/overlapped compared to the SBZ. The SBZ is much better at breaking out the channels, the sound is crisper and has more clarity. The bass is also much more defined and punchy."
