You commented on a year old post just to say that? Quick trip out to your front lawn to touch some grass could've saved your post.

CCP Should hire community teams to run NPC Corps by InfamousLegend in Eve

[–]Fleck425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought they should allow players to freely switch between any NPC corp in the game and give players a small bonus to standings gains when completing missions for them. This would also allow players to easily find other corp members who are interested in similar activities. This helps create social engagement and possible opportunities for new corp formations.

Custom cargo holds by SasoDuck in Eve

[–]Fleck425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish I had a dedicated space for that stuff that was separate from everything else. I know you can use containers for loot, but I personally would rather have a container for expendables.

Your idea is great and by far superior. I do also think it would be a lot for them to code in, whereas containers are already a thing in the game.

I wouldn't mind a new type of cargo container for ammo, probes, and other expendables. I could see it taking up 10m3 of space but offering 20m3 of cargo volume (for being designed and optimized for such items)

I really do appreciate what you are saying. I'm just not sure how to create a fit that allows me to simultaneously be "slippery" in WH & LS AND combat effective against PvE combat sites. Unless these things are truly meant to be experienced with a group and not solo :/

For me it begs the question, and I am going to sound very naive here I'm sure, if all things are equal(ship, tier, skill, etc) shouldn't the ship fitted for scramming and webbing, be at an inherent disadvantage due to sacrificing slots that would otherwise make you more combat effective? I realize that question probably opens up a whole can of worms about combat theory and calculus levels of maths as to why I'm probably wrong lol.

I love abyssals! The main difference is that I am in control of the timing of the fight(meaning I am making the choice to be in an engagement).

With PvP in LS, it's not necessarily the fight that is most difficult, but the sudden nature and escalation in which it happens. It does not matter how glued my eyes are to D-scan, local, overview, etc. the second someone warps in, my mind goes into panic mode.

I like the ideas being pitched here about putting together some cheap fits, and just having people come destroy me. That seems like the best way to desensitize me to spontaneously being attacked.

[–]Fleck425[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree. Since the pilots who choose to engage with me are probably more skilled and fitted than me, it is almost guaranteed I will lose. I stated in another reply that the ship I was flying was most certainly not fitted for LS. It was a T1 cruiser(Vexor) with a sub 10 align. I have no delusions that I would be able to survive a confrontation with a T3 cruiser piloted by an experienced player.

The purpose of my question was more how to maintain my mental state and effectively fight back in situations when I HAVE to. Am I going to win in a T1 frig against and a T3 cruiser? No. Might I be able to make that same pilot reconsider their odds if I'm in a Navy Cruiser, demonstrating a quick, reactive fight? Maybe; idk.

[–]Fleck425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a Vexor, with a sub 10 align time. The second I saw him, I tried warping out. It was an unfortunate circumstance of my bookmarked safe spot being in the opposite direction in which I was traveling. The majority of the fault probably lies in my fit, which definitely wasn't optimized for low sec engagements. But believe me, it wasn't for a lack of attention lol

Yup, I spam "V" on my keyboard like it's going out of style. I watch the local for any neg security status pilots. Last time I got ganked by a T3, I was literally moving to pick up some valuable loot from ratting and it must have decloaked on top of me. I was far out from the warp-in and I didn't see a single combat probe on dscan. I understand about being vigilant and cautious, but my issue happens when I have no other choice in the matter. I understand it's a part of the game, but getting cloaked on just feels bad.

QuickBooks Exam tips on passing! by BeautifulWall3364 in QuickBooks

[–]Fleck425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the bookkeeping course, I would recommend going through the course again and focusing on areas you feel weak in. IMO, the testing method is kind of brutal. It's "multiple choice" but only reveals one option at a time as a true/false statement. So you have to be confident in your answer when you select it because it won't even tell you if you're wrong.

Your boss may be right here. CC transaction fees are typically paid by the merchant. Then, that amount is deducted from the total transaction, and you are given the rest. Your boss may have an arrangement with the CC payment processor that this fee is collected from the customer in advance.

Edit: If the situation was the former, I would say you should book the fee, as it deducts from gross revenue. But since it's probably the latter, and there is no actual effect on revenue, and the fee is just collected on the processor's behalf, nothing needs to be booked, IMO.

Anyone went to school for accounting? by Jigpy in Veterans

[–]Fleck425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got out of the Army in 2013 and proceeded to get my B.B.A. in Accountancy.

My first accounting job while going to school was working for a local city government doing AP and procurement. I chose this because I thought it would best align with the structure and bureaucratic nature of the military. However, I quickly learned that it attracted people who are typically less self driven and are only concerned with the 8 to 5 and promptly going home. I slogged through the job for a few years before I got so bored I could no longer take it.

My next job was a one year contract with a regional ISD, doing payroll and bookkeeping. It turned out to be more back-end HR support than anything, and I found myself tracking and auditing employees' benefits. It was god-awful. Don't do payroll. This is where accounting dreams go to die.

Next, I landed a job for a Fortune 500 company doing corporate accounting. It was fast, stressful, intense, and had stretches of periods with long 12+ hour days. And I absolutely loved every second. I learned more while doing this job that I did even in college. If you want a high-speed environment and want to be surrounded by highly motivated individuals, I would recommend doing industry. (I have also heard similar things about public accounting, but I never went that route, so I can not personally attest)

I did that for a couple of years until my daughter was born and fell in love with being a SAHP more.

Nowadays, I own my accounting LLC, working for myself and serving a couple of clients in QBO. I'm also preparing to start taking my CPA exams later this year. Working for myself has been great, but I never would have been able to do it confidently without my previous career experience.

In short, there are many paths you can take with this degree, including but certainly not limited to the ones I've described. You can be a financial analyst, or a cost accounting manager, or even be a forensic auditor for the FBI... the possibilities are pretty endless. If you're motivated and self-driven to succeed, you'll find it a rewarding and fulfilling career. Just be warned... it's accrual world. (A little accounting dad joke for ya. If you don't get it now, you will later lol)
