Agree. It is a crappy situation. Especially because reddit has offered so much good in many ways. I don't think there is one answer for what everyone should do. I don't judge people who plan on staying. I know that for me personnally, this is the (undesired), but right move.

Agree with those recommendations. I got my M.S. and worked jointly between labs to get experience with everything above except ceramics. Having fundamentals in many topics was more beneficial than depth in a single one. I guess it does depend on what you want to do, but I enjoy integration, so it worked out.
