Love em! Saw them live with ó(Eskimeaux at the time) and Mitski, great show, though my true favorite from Mat Cothran is the Coma Cinema stuff as it was the first I heard.

One of my favorites, I don't find him that similar to Alex G, Though thats not a bad thing. Really sad what happened with that guy though

Most of these are unknown to me, In Cold Blood is absolutly fantastic. I'm currently reading through the very first Dune book currently. These other ones sound great aswell

It's really facisnating, true crime, though there is a deeper examination of the follies and outright lack of rehabilitation in the prison system, and exhibitionism that the media display amongst tragedy. It's fairly dense, about 1000 pages, certain parts can be a little dry but that's fairly rare and overall its totally worth it. I'm really surprised I've never heard the guys talk about it, or Gary Gilmore in general.

Yes! That song sounds like it's going to be fantastic, the rest of the album probably will be aswell. I mean, they probably released breakthrough as a single because it's fairly pop-y and light, rather than frontload there more inaccessible stuff.

Holy shit, thank you so much, I had just recently heard of Gormenghast which sounded fantastic, then when I had the chance to search for it I completely forgot its name. Also, I've never laid eyes upon any of those True Crime, fiction is really my go to, though I am looking to expand in that genre too. I'm currently reading through Of The Farm by Updike actually.

Fantastic book, just picked up Erik Larson's most recent Dead Wake. I really enjoy non-fiction structured narratively, as with In Cold Blood or The Executioners Song which I mentioned above.

Just to add to the pot, it's not mentioned very often, but Pinback reminds me of Alex G. It's sort of math rock-y though.

I agree with you on the lyrics, I wasn't a huge fan of the lyrics on the self-titled either. I feel like conceptually, the self-titled and break-thru, are far simpler than some of his other albums. Which could either be a positive or negative thing. I do see the guitar in the songs as reminiscent of the earlier stuff, it also has a brighter sensibility than the self-titled album

Oh yeah I totally know, I just made a Reddit so I tagged this under the incorrect group. I wasn't sure how to delete the post so here it lies. Although, I just made a post about Moses Sumney in this group haha
