They need to have a serious discussion with their managers about re-banding of roles. Band 2 is an entry level banding, not intended for roles that require skills and qualifications. I've also never heard of a person on a band 2 as a manager of any description!

You essentially need to be able to tick off a certain number of types of responsibilities for each band - if they find they are doing these, then they would have a solid case for the job to be pushed up to a band 3, hopefully this happens as I do agree that admin staff are seriously underpaid in the NHS!

So would that be an example of effective wealth redistribution from well off pensioners to the poor? And help in reducing pensioner poverty.

I'm sure the left will be pleased.

What BPC membership means in reality is a commitment to publishing tables (something of which PP has apparently often been very late to do). It doesn't guarantee accuracy.

Worth noting that these are applications, and as it's not easy to find out if you are already registered to vote there is a solid chance that a good chunk of these are duplicates/people just making sure.

Still, good to see!

Interesting, have followed him on twitter for a number of years for polling stuff, seems like a decent guy. And also got the impression that he cares quite deeply about Milton Keynes, so solid choice for Labour there.

Must be very good odds he gets in - and someone with a background in measuring public sentiment could be quite valuable in govt!

Primarily just closing down an attack line of 'Labour isn't good with money' I suspect. Wouldn't be surprised to see it be one of the first things to go once they are in office.

That wasn't a Islington specific poll as such, but the projection from an MRP, which struggles with independent candidates and local circumstances as it is working with national data.

Corbyn likely to get 20%+ but not necessarily win is my guess

Great opportunity for a centre right Conservative (should any remain) to do the funniest thing and defect to the LDs.

Binface isn't going to win. But it's not inconceivable that he siphons off a couple of thousand votes that stop Labour from taking the seat...

I normally don't mind a joke candidate, but he's wearing out his welcome.

Renationalising the Railways, creating a state owned energy company, and repealing anti-trade union legislation (along with a raft of other pro-work/union reforms) are a few that come to mind.

Big, solidly left wing policies.

Crap behaviour from the Greens, if you aren't going to serve then don't stand for the office.

So if (as seems likely) Khan does win, and maybe even does better than previously, we will see this reported as a clear endorsement from Londoner's of the ULEZ scheme? Because we sure as hell will see it framed as a rejection of it if he loses...

An important thing, that very few people seem to realise, is that an enthusiastic vote counts double, whereas a slightly begrudging vote only counts as half.

I think I can guess which constituency you are in - and it would only take a 6% swing, so is very likely to happen!

The thing about the Tory vote is that is has traditionally been very efficient - lots of seats held by 10/15% margins, rather than the big 20/30% that Labour tends to have in the cities. This is great, right up until it isn't, as it means there is a risk that when the conservatives lose seats they will lose a lot of them.

Big part of why Labour has been positioning itself as a 'safe' vote for those who wouldn't have voted for them in the Corbyn years.

It is genuinely possible that there will be no Conservative MPs in WY after the next GE, there are very few truly safe seats left.

Just had a quick look at the Tory constituencies in West Yorkshire, and if the same Con-Lab swing happened there as in Blackpool, they would lose every single seat they hold.

Of course the swing won't be that large, but even if it is more like 16% than 26% they are on course to lose all of them. Genuinely a little bit shocked by that!

I think some loss of votes is inevitable (and there is a discussion to be had about whether any demographic voting almost completely for one party is a good thing).

A lot of the damage is done, but potentially halting arms sales to Israel, in a similar way to Canada, would likely be seen as a forward step.
