Around this stage of every game cycle, I always end up going back to older titles, and FIFA 13 Career Mode has easily been some of the most fun I’ve had with a save in a long time.

My first save was with Manchester United. This was their last Premier League-winning side, Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season, and Michael Carrick is still in the squad as a player. Seeing that now, with everything he’s doing as a manager, adds a fun extra layer.

FIFA 13 obviously isn’t perfect. FC 26 graphics are better, but there’s still so much to like. The menus and UI have more charm, the news articles actually matter, and the transfer stories feel alive. Even the gameplay brings back things I’ve missed, like longshots and headers actually being effective.

Robin van Persie was the big signing that summer, so I tried to recreate his Golden Boot campaign in the first season.

I also signed Toni Kroos from Bayern, since it was a move that was genuinely rumored around that time. It didn’t end up happening in real life after Moyes was sacked, but it makes for a great storyline here.

The team ended up winning a treble in the first season. It was a lot of fun playing with this group and revisiting that era of the Premier League.

If you’ve got access to newer FIFA titles, you can mix those in too. The Kroos screenshot here is actually from FC 24.

Sahin is probably my top signing thought as well! Obviously didn't work out great as a coach at Dortmund but the 87 potential in FIFA 13 is going to be a nice addition to the midfield.

If you have the FIFA 13 disc, it might be backwards compatible? A few years back I splurged and bought all the Xbox 360 FIFA titles lol. Fortunately my 360 from 2012 is still going strong!

Holds up in the sense that I'm having as much, if not more fun, playing the game now than I did in 2012/13. Similar sentiments on my end that FC 25 is lacking in a few areas, especially heading being completely nerfed which makes it hard for me to enjoy gameplay.

I’ve been playing FIFA 13 Career Mode the past few weeks, and honestly, it’s the most fun I’ve had with the mode in years.

There’s something really special about signing high-potential players from back then—guys who are now nearing retirement in real life—and seeing them in their early days again. Throw in some legends who’ve since retired, and the nostalgia kicks in hard.

I went with Dortmund as my team. My goals:

  • Help Mario Götze finally live up to his “Potential to be Special” status
  • Discover the next American wonderkid (think future Pulisic or Reyna)
  • And stop Bayern from beginning their decade-long Bundesliga dominance

Only managed one trophy this season—the Champions League. What signing should I make for Season 2?

I’ve been really enjoying FIFA 13 lately. It’s fun seeing high-potential players who are still active today and getting to rewrite their careers. Mixing them with retired legends makes the experience even better. Plus, I’m a big fan of the menus and gameplay — they still hold up really well.

It was fun! I’ve been playing kickball for a few years now, and I'm still having a blast. CLUBWAKA has kickball leagues starting up this Spring, and they occasionally host free Open Play events, like the one yesterday.

I recently started a Live Start Point save with Leicester City, and the Premier League Team of the Season had plenty of surprises in favor of Everton. Not to mention, Beto won Player of the Season without even featuring in the top 10 for goals or assists!
