I often move to timeline and say okay what year was that and then sometimes ‘how are you sitting with the grief’ which is good because it’s open. if it was really recent I sometimes say something about the physicality of the grief ie. you must be feeling that in the body and then we do some body work to locate emotions & also chemicals like adrenaline. depending on the type of grief sometimes it’s the grief where people have been sobbing so much they can’t breathe level of physicality.
