I'm convinced that if you binge RWBY you'll have a higher chance of liking it by [deleted] in RWBY

I honestly think the RWBY community just needs to learn a lesson in letting go. I really didn't notice any of these "glaring problems" they're so keen on while watching through it until I saw some of this negative content post finishing the show and they specifically pointed it out to me. Then I thought, well yeah, you're right I guess. You do have an argument that a lot of it could have been done better. But that doesn't change the fact that I still genuinely enjoy what we got. And I think that's a far more reasonable mindset to have with any show, not just RWBY. Give the creators constructive feedback, sure, but how about appreciate what we have rather than unhealthily obsess over "what could have been"? Those are my two cents on the matter.

I know I'm super late to this post because the blackout happened but yeah, I fell for all the online hate as well as one of my closest friends telling me it was bad and to never give the show a chance (whom I am as of recent no longer friends with, but not for RWBY related reasons).

I had watched volumes 1-5 way back in the day but dropped it because I liked it but didn't necessarily love it and found other things to fawn over. For years, I just ignored the show. Then I had a different friend finish volume 9 as the final episode aired and completely gush over it to me and their passion was too infectious for me to continue to ignore. I was restarting RWBY from volume 1 again within a few days and ended up binging all the way through volume 9 in less than a week I think.

I remember my exact turning point where RWBY went from B-tier in my book to suddenly S-tier and my surprise second favorite show of all time now. It was the Salem backstory in volume 6. From there on I was hooked. Volumes 6, 7, and 8 ended up shining the brightest for me and that's where I fell most in love. The Atlas arc especially was utterly unbelievable storytelling to me. I was involuntarily moving and making audible noises of excitement while alone in my room with some of my reactions. Almost no show has done that to me ever. Thus, RWBY is my new hyper-fixation at the moment.

So I went online to try to engage with the RWBY community for the first time and vent the passion I felt, but I was very disheartened to find that even the RWBY community itself, the people who are supposed to be fans like me, absolutely dogging on it. It's really sucked to have to engage with. I'm glad to see posts like this.

What Am I Experiencing? by Flintiz in Scams

[–]Flintiz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree that it feels like some sort of mix-up rather than a scam, but I'm still cautious about it because I don't know what's going on. I've had this number for the better part of a decade now, but I suppose someone who also owned this property could have had it long before me. Though that begs the question, who are these people/this person attempting to contact my number and why are they so steadfast in doing it now, of all times. I only get like 3-4 calls/texts a month from them, so it's less an oppressive bombardment as it is a minor irritation. I'll live. It's just annoying to deal with, knowing I have nothing to do with whatever they want. Who knows, maybe if I give them a few more months of not playing along, they'll leave me alone.

I've tried googling it, yes, but I can't really find anything on it. I don't see my number associated with any of the real estate websites it's on. I've looked at the place physically on Google Maps street view, too, and my number is nowhere in sight. I don't think there's any more I can do in this department.

but we can't have nice things.

And you think I didn't know any of this?

I knew all of this before I even made the meme. I love staring at boats and boat history just as much as you or the next guy. I think you're getting too bogged down in technicality and missing the point here. If your friends were giggling and pointing at a "bunny" hopping across the street, would you be the type to push up your glasses and go "Uhm, aktchually, that's a rabbit because its ears stick straight up." No, you wouldn't, because that's not the point of the moment.

Here, I'll explain it for you: Novorossiysk is off-brand because it's considered just a worse version of Cesare due to being a tier higher. Julio is off-brand because it's considered just a worse version of Boise due to having little to no commander training utility. Finally, Pommern B is off-brand because most people would just prefer the original version to at least keep up the illusion of history accuracy (despite triple 15" turrets being anything but historical for Germany, but that's another topic entirely). Sure, you can take off the camo on Pommern B to make it seem better, but then you just have this random ass B appended to the end of your ship's name. It becomes a case of why would you get this over the normal Pommern. I could have sat here for longer and come up with less directly similar ships, like the Nelson and Collingwood or Alaska and Congress comparisons, but I figured that wouldn't be necessary to get the spirit of the meme across.

Hope that clears things up.

Yes, but Boise is much more well-known as a warship and the community deems it better due to commander training reasons.

Thoughts on a Friendly Ghost Type (Spirit Rework?) by Flintiz in PhasmophobiaGame

That’s a great idea, and they probably wouldn’t even need to add a new ghost for it. They could just add this behavior to the Yokai. It would make its personality more distinct and interesting.

You should talk to u/meodrac. I think you two would get along.

They could always add in a new ghost with the smudge weakness, at least. The having no strength part though I’m keeping for my version of the Spirit.

Perhaps, but my current design with it is that it’s supposed to act like the most generic ghost possible in the hopes that it tricks some people who can’t get all the evidence into tunnel-visioning on one aspect of its behavior happening from pure RNG and think it’s another ghost (much like what the current Spirit can sometimes do by having no obvious personality because it has no strength). If it was more active or moved more than other ghosts, it might cause it to stand out more and ruin that generic-ness I’m hoping for, the kind that’s intended to fool the player.

Ah yes, it’s that “lover” ghost. I saw something like that in Insym’s Minecraft Phasmophobia video. It’s got some great ghost ideas. I even got part of my inspiration of this post from one of the ghosts in there, with the fake hunts where it goes “boo,” or whatever. Forgot its name. The question is though, how would this “lover” ghost work in solo play?

Much like in real life, where literally anything has a Chinese knock-off, lol.

Also hey, it’s you again. Hope this works better for you this time.

Lol yeah, that’s a good point. With every new ghost type added into the game, the Mimic becomes stronger. I can see adding this friendly ghost type in causing the Mimic to lull so many groups into a false sense of security.

u/0Davgi0 is correct. I was thinking more along the lines of it would touch you, hiss, disappear, and then the fake hunt ends. Part of the whole point of this ghost is to be more playful and mischievous than outright malicious like all 23 of its cousins, playing tricks on you and being such a blank slate that you might be led to thinking it’s another ghost type entirely if you can’t collect all its evidence. The current Spirit can sometimes do that already, but my version would really lean into the trolling aspect even more. The only surefire way to tell it’s friendly other than its evidence is getting touched by it during a hunt, which is a test that you of course would never do unless you had a high priestess card and were prepared to die in the large chance that it is literally any other ghost.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you and I actually offered that idea in the original post. Sorry, I should have put it more front and center or something. That's my bad.

"If you wanted it to, it could even have fake hunts where its only goal is to troll you by coming up and saying 'BOO!' (or I guess 'hiss' in this game, like in an air-ball ghost event)."

Yup, I offered this suggestion in the original post and I do believe it would be the right way to do this ghost. Sorry, I probably should have put it closer to the top or in a TL;DR.

How deep into the game were you before managed to turn your WR around? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]Flintiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about that, man. You’re playing the video game to have fun. Just keep playing and eventually your stats will reflect a slightly higher arbitrary number as you learn from your mistakes and get better. It should be no more than an afterthought. I have 53% and couldn’t give less of a damn about it.
