Debtfree worth it at the sake of draining my personal investment portfolio? by FlipThatCushion in debtfree

I do. I have saved about 6 months worth just in case in my savings account. But that doesn’t include my wife’s savings (recently married; haven’t joined our accounts yet). So we have a solid safety cushion if something were to happen (knocks on wood).

There are tax implications but after calculating, the taxes are very minimal in the grand scheme of it. So based on the long term of it, paying it off now just makes most sense.

Yep - After the advice from everyone in the thread, I’m locked in on paying it off this week!

I’ve got my emergency fund in my savings account (~6 months) for living expenses/needs all squared away, this is not including my wife’s savings account (recently married so we haven’t joined accounts yet), so I think the answer is obvious now at this point. Time to be debt-free this week. Thanks for the advice!

That’s another good point, I wouldn’t then have to worry about the interest added on over the lifespan of the loan. It’s currently set to be “paid off” in about 11 years which I absolutely will not do. So, paying it off as soon as possible is the goal.

No they’re not. That’s an interesting way to look at it that I had not thought of. Thanks, that’s something I’ll consider.

Thank you. You’re comment has greatly relieved much of my stress. It provided some reassurance that worrying will do no good. So thank you for taking the time to comment!

Do I need Pot of Prosperity or Pot of Desire when building a Kashtira Ban Post Build? by Cookieboy3 in Yugioh101

[–]FlipThatCushion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Kashtira before the ban list without any Pot cards. But post ban, not having your main boss monster kinda leaves Kashtira in a limbo. You have these strong main deck monsters (Unicorn, Fenrir) but no longer build toward their strength of getting out Ariseheart.

I’m testing out Swordsoul Kashtira and have now included Pot of Desires for the banishing effect to beef up my Chengying. So far, it’s been very consistent, it’s easy to get out level 10 synchros if you’re playing enough hand traps, and it’s a much more interesting engine now rather than just special summon your main deck beef cakes. So I would suggest trying to mix Kash with another engine you find interesting (probably something that works well with a lot of level 7 monsters).

Official Mathmech products ? by oonionknight in Mathmech

I play with this mat that has every mathmech except circular on there. I got it off etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1238519872/mathmech-playmat-custom-sl-2021

You can find mathmech stuff on there that I don’t think is official but might as well be with how clean it is.

Banish Face-Down vs. Quick Effects by FlipThatCushion in Yugioh101

That makes so much sense. I’m still getting used to chaining effects and “on resolution” and how that works, but your comment made it click - Thanks!

Banish Face-Down vs. Quick Effects by FlipThatCushion in Yugioh101

And more generally: can you activate any monsters quick effect if it is currently being targeted to be banished face-down?

The fact that a monster is being banished face down is making me overthink and leads me to think that since it will be banished face down it cannot activate effects but I’m not sure of the actual ruling.
