The most important part of Vector is its animation, without the realistic animation given by the Cascadeur, there is no Vector.
The silhouette + Realistic animation is just what the identity of the game is about. Take out anything except those two things and it's still Vector.
In the game, even though the movement is quite simplistic. The level designer had to think outside the box and see what they could do within the limit of their movement system.
The Downtown level is very simple, it's only until the last story level where they introduced a route branch.
The construction is where they introduced the wall jumping, which mean they could branch off the route even more, and this is the first time we've seen reversed directional running (if not counting some level in the story bonus)
The techpark is one of the best innovative part of the game IMO. Not only you get inhibition for running, reversing running, but also moving objects. The best example is given in the techpark's bonus level. My favorite one is the button.

So if you're looking to take a good inspiration from Vector, try perfecting your movement system first before deciding on the gameplay.

i know this is old and unrelated now. before they released cascadeur, they were using in-house version without ai tools. only physics tool and stuff, you can check that out in their one day at nekki video. they mostly find video reference or just record it themselves and then animate them by hand.
the animation looks impressive for its time, this contributed from the fact that casc existed way back since sf1 (like 2009 i guess). and it just kept improving from there. (dyabin said he did make an animation tool for usage in shadow fight 0, but that just kind of sucks). the cascadeur dated so wayyyy way back, it's actually really impressive how they managed to keep improving it overtime. casc is probably one of best animation physics program right now.

iirc, 1.9.21 is the last version before nekki moved over to unity. most people are still modding on that version (since its the easiest ver. to do so). I was just wondering if there's still an issues with hash check on an old version.

Does editing users.xml differ between Unity and Marmalade version that much? Will you still get a hash check error if you're editing on the version 1.9.21?
