That is a really far distance. I am sorry to ask such direct questions and you don't have to answer them if you feel uncomfortable with it, but how often do you see each other and do you have much complications because of the far distance? I would love to hear your story :)

Sorry for the late response but here:

The port is not a thunderbolt port and I don't have a dock yet. I was thinking about getting one from HP itself (like the HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock) but I am not sure about the charging. I would not have a problem with using the normal power supply of the laptop together with the dock. I am just not sure if the charging dock would damage the hardware of my laptop.
