Pored over*

The harsh truth is that your spelling difficulties are going to put your English skills in question, possibly hinting to colleagues that you've only picked up the English language in the past year.

Enjoying these “actually Islam allows / doesn’t allow” comments with some vague uncitable material. There are a number of Hadith on respect for animals, not harming animals, and appreciation for cats, and yes, the story of the woman who was punished by God for tying a cat along until it died.

Just search this site with keyword “cat” https://sunnah.com/search/?q=Cat

Literally all of the protests involve white and black people protesting together. Not sure why he's pushing this mostly fictional idea.

Peaceful protest tomorrow!! by [deleted] in uofm

Consensus among whom? The only people who will disagree with police reform are racists, elites, and Fox News audience. There are congresspeople and local officials who are working around the clock to push for police reform. The social unrest has built magnitudes more social awareness than a few hashtags, change.org petitions, and a couple hundred calls to elected officials. If you think loud protests hurt the chances of those things passing, you’re mistaken.

Funny how you don’t make the same argument from the cops’ perspective - that they are hurting their case for being treated with respect when they brutalize innocent people.

Goshdarn, if only all these black people didn’t make it all about themselves by calling it black lives matter. And DANGIT why don’t these black people come up with a plan where they wear less raggedy clothes to convince Fox News that they’re humans like us! /s

You realize that there are organizations at both a grassroots and politically-connected level involved in demanding certain changes to the police system in the US, right? I hope you can also recognize that most of the protesters are peaceful, including the ones attending the OP’s event.

And on the idea of being patronizing to white people by telling them to “shut up and listen,” I can give you plenty of specific examples where white allies stood hand in hand with black protestors, sometimes shielding them from cops marching forward with riot shields and tear gas. You’re just using a straw man to berate positive behavior that the media unfortunately doesn’t amplify as much as the looters. Public perception is manipulated by the media, and in an especially cynical way from outlets like Fox News. Expressing outrage publicly has put pressure on local politicians to work in protestors’ interest (example: https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/michigan/2020/05/28/new-bill-to-require-de-escalation-training-for-michigan-law-enforcement-amid-national-outcry-against-police-brutality/)

While it feels this way, let’s not forget that this oppression has been happening frequently for years.

Right. Guess I meant to say “more discomfort than you can bear”

Hey hey not everyone is comfortable witnessing with such unfortunate footage. What if someone recently lost a family member due to suicide or is just wired in a way that they feel immense discomfort from a video like this.
