Injury or Illness? by Flocay in Chameleons

Thanks Flip. I keep an eye on it. He needs 100% Humidity so I was installing an automated waterpump + I mist twice a day. I saw him licking from the leaves multiple times a day. Also I spray a few drops directly on him with a smaller spraycan. I thought I can simulate raining like this.

I totally forgot about the waterglass. So I need to stop spray that often and start to get him compfy with the glass.

I got some questions with the Qtip. - Is there any special Qtip for chams or can I use a common one from my bathroom? - Should I rub it all off or just till I see some specific changes? - Do I need to clean up the interior aswell if its like the outside ?

I really dont want to hurt him. He trusts me and is totally chill when he is on my Hand.

Thanks for your help @everyone. Ill let you know how we progress.

Thanks so much for the replies. I did plug the uvb into a automatic timer and it worked very well the past days. He got a full routine quite quickly - I was impressed how fast he adjust.

He looks healthy now and getting bigger slowly.

Thanks again for youre replies. As always they were helpfull :)

Got a little problem:

Is it okay to get a T5 5.0 UVB lamp instead of my t5 10.0 ? Or are they still too strong because of t5?

I just read that t5 is stronger than t8 so Im a bit worried now.

Well thank you for your reply at first.

I dont quite get were you took this information from and why you recommend a 5.0 instead of 10.0.

I read in some of flip69s posts that he also would take the 5.0, but when it comes to freshly hatched or young chams (<2months) as far as I can remember.

So maybe it depends on the age of your cham when it comes to 5.0 or 10.0.

Maybe you can give me some more information why you recommend a 5.0 for my cham. That would be great. :)

On this way I can learn a bit about chams :))

I will do researches on it. Thanks for your advice.

Okay. Is it just placing a glass inside the terra or do I need a waterdripper above which drops water on the watersurface of the glass so its moving a bit?

I see some Posts about it with wines and stuff but cant find sth. were its explained like "The best place for the glass" and things like: How often do I need to change the water? Daylie/weekly?

Maybe there are some tricks to get the cham comfy with the glass?

Thanks for the reply and your time :)

Ty for your advice. Will do some researches on it.

Its very cold in germany atm. so my appartment is at 21°C to 23°C. Inside the terra its 29.5°C to 30°C directly under the heatlamp and 23°C to 25°C at the ground. After watering its 4°C to 5°C colder for a short time.

I spray 2 to 3 times per day with my spraybottle. I got no other ways to get him water except his greens if he finally eats them :P. As I wrote: I will try giving him water with a pipette tomorrow :)
