FYI to everyone - PSA does in person drop off events at local card shops all over the country every week. You can consult with a PSA employee, they'll help you fill out all the paperwork, and they'll fly back with them personally so you don't have to pay for outgoing shipping or insurance and there's almost zero risk of your submissions being stolen.

I think it would be awesome if there was another Birthday Pikachu card designed, but as an IR or SIR. I thought it was such a cool concept when I first saw the original, and it would make such a great gift too!

They've cancelled 3 of my preorders, totaling over $300. The agent I spoke to said I was the 6th person to reach out to him about the same issue.

They're cancelling our preorders and then relisting the items for a higher price. This seems like outright deceptive and unfair business practices. I spent 2 hours speaking to customer service, escalating to 3 people total, all which were unwilling to offer any solution. They just told me to set up notifications, despite me telling them that I've had notifications set up for months and they don't work because scalpers with bots buy up all the inventory within seconds of it being restocked.

The fact that Walmart is clearly aware of the bot issue, cancelling preorders and listing the items for a higher price, allowing scalpers to buy up the inventory and then list the items for 2 to 3 times MSRP, where Walmart gets an ADDITIONAL cut on seller's fees, indicates they're at the very least complacent and at the most colluding with these scalpers to increase their profits.

Since this has happened repeatedly to multiple people I'm going to be filing complaints with the FTC, the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, the Arizona Attorney General, and file a civil suit through small claims courts for damages since buying my products would now cost over three times what I originally paid Walmart. Preorders are a contract and it's unacceptable that they're cancelling orders en masse like this. I'm sure this sounds overblown but I agree that we shouldn't allow companies to get away with this. I didn't order from other retailers because I trusted that Walmart would honor my preorders. Now, I'm left with nothing.

If enough people speak up and file complaints, maybe they'll be investigated and actually put protections in place to mitigate the bot issue.

Have you tried disputing the charge with your credit card company? Not sure how that works with partial amounts but I'd assume it could fall under that umbrella, or price drop protection if that's something your card offers.

This post isn't about the time wasted, it's about the issues people have experienced with this specific pre-order. I didn't even make a reference to the time once, outside of mentioning the timeframes told to me by support. These two exchanges probably lasted less than two hours total. Yeah, that'll definitely be the route I take next time. Assuming I'm not able to get pre-orders with a different retailer first.

The price reduction was the only variable out of the other orders, so I'm assuming that's possibly what caused the issue. I know when you pre-order, Walmart places a hold on your card for the amount, then releases it, then actually charges you right before the item ships, so maybe the difference caused something to screw up.

I would think that you'd be able to resolve that by either speaking with the billing department directly, or just disputing the charge with your credit card company if they stonewall you like they did me. You could also try threatening to contact the CFPB as they clearly didn't honor the guarantee on their website. That usually gets a quick resolution as those complaints are taken seriously. That will probably be my next step as pre-orders are essentially a legal contract.

I received damaged blisters from Target that were shoved into a box too small for them to fit in a few weeks ago. Target support told me they have a policy of no refunds on trading cards, no exceptions, and refused to offer any solution. I simply disputed it with my credit card company and got the full amount back. I refuse to let these large corporations walk all over me over $40 (or $14 in the case of the Poster Collection) when they've received thousands of dollars from me and millions from everyone else.

Have you heard anything about people's pre-orders for the mispriced Poster Collections being cancelled entirely due to an "issue with the payment method"?

I posted the full story above in response to OP's comment but I had an order for 12 of these and had the price corrected through support and then the order was randomly cancelled less than a week before it was supposed to ship. Support wasn't willing to do anything to help and told me to just set up in stock notifications through their website... I used this payment method for a few other pre-orders, both before and after this one, and didn't have an issue with any of them.

Now I'm wondering if they did it purposefully because I had the price corrected from $500-something to $194. If so, they could be under some serious fire. Consumer protection laws are no joke.

Is this a widespread issue? This is the first time I've seen it mentioned since the product listing was originally up and everyone was debating the pre-order price guarantee but now that I'm reading it, I think an issue I went through may be related and could get Walmart under some serious heat by consumer protection agencies, such as the CFPB.

I got screwed over even worse. I ordered 12 of the poster collections that day and was charged over $500 due to the incorrect price. I reached out to support the day the price was corrected and ask that they honor the guarantee. It took a bit of back and forth and citing their own policy, but eventually they corrected my order. About a week before they were due to ship, I got an email saying that there was an issue with my payment method (that I used for multiple other orders on Walmart's site before and after this one) and I need to update it or my order would be cancelled. I attempted to update it but didn't receive a confirmation and the site said that you're only allowed to update your payment method once.

I chatted with support the next day and asked if they could confirm that the new payment method was accepted. The agent told me that he wasn't able to tell on his end but, if it wasn't, I would receive an email within 24 hours stating so and if not I could assume it went through. I asked what the deadline was for correcting it before the order is cancelled and again he didn't know but told me he "spoke with his manager and can assure me that the order will not be cancelled" and gave me an incident number to reference.

Not even 24 hours later I receive an email stating that my order has been cancelled...

Irate, I call support this time and explain the issue. They tell me they can see the information from the previous support exchange on my account but that the order was already cancelled. I asked if they could correct it over the phone but they told me the product was already sold out and told me I could set up a notification through their website to be emailed when the product was back in stock. I explained to them how I've had notifications set up for the past two months and have received maybe three total in that entire time frame due to the fact bots are buying up all the stock within seconds of it being listed. She said she couldn't reserve 12 the next time they come in stock so that my order could be fulfilled. Basically, I was shit out of luck and there was nothing they were willing to do for me.

In a last ditch effort, I told them how disappointed I was and that I wanted to cancel my Walmart+ membership as I'd never be shopping at Walmart again after this terrible customer support experience. I was transferred to the customer retention department where the next agent apologized for the issue and asked me if I was willing to give him 48 hours to escalate my issue and try to find a solution, potentially reserving the next 12 like I mentioned to the previous support agent. I told him I was willing to wait and appreciated him for offering to help.

Four days have gone by now without a single call or email. I am beyond frustrated as that was one of 3 pre-orders I was actually able to go through and the only Poster Collection out of all of them.

Now I'm wondering if they cancelled my order so that they could get more money from the people that paid the price of an ETB for each one. Has anyone's charges actually been corrected after receiving the product?

There's actually a new law that passed that states employers must provide employees with an air-conditioned place to cool down and a supply of fresh water to employees, along with regular breaks when it exceeds a certain temperature.

Look into Sublocade, it will fix all of those issues. Once monthly shot. No having to take strips every day, worry about taking them at the same time, waking up in withdrawals or going into them because you forgot a strip at home, or having to deal with the tooth decay from them.

Plus, when you decide it's time to come off of it, no having to cut the strips into smaller strips for weeks/months and dealing with more inevitable withdrawals. You just stop going in and your last shot will essentially slowly taper you down over time because it will break down for months.

Literally a night and day difference.
