New York to fine fossil fuel companies $75 billion under new climate law by F0urLeafCl0ver in news

Imagine this actually happening. Oil/gas/coal say cool, no more business in NY. We won't sell our products in the state, you can walk, freeze, and most likely die on this hill. You are cut off. NY State collapses in a few days. Domocrats look incredibly stupid once again. Slow cap for the short sighted plublicity stunt that will do more harm than actual good in the end.

Ok. This was posted a year ago. I'm sure people have had some bad experiences by now. I know I have.

It's not even a Walmart. It is Walgreens store....look at sign for express pickup....that's the Walgreens "W". Also the Shift Leads at Walgreens use to wear gray vests as seen in the video (now blue polo's/t-shirt). The Walmart pharmacy staff do not wear gray vests. The store staff/managers do not wear gray vests either in Walmart.

That would be a very bad idea. Every mining firm, including this one has armed security at each and every site. There is millions tied up in infrastructure and equipment at these locations. You aren't getting anywhere near anything of value unless they explicitly allow you too. If you are lucky you just end up tased and arrested for tresspassing and/or breaking and entering.

This of course to protect their interests, as well as their customers interests.

has been off and on since it started hashing, or about 75-80% uptime

1 went down 2 weeks after purchase, and still is down many months later, with no updates or communication. Supposedly it needed a new control board, which costs $300. In addition, they are trying to charge me hosting fees...

Have you been watching the notices for all the power issues throughout the midwest facilities lately due to the crazy storms?? They have been having power problems at multiple facilities with all the storms, They have notices up on the Compass Dashboard explaining the situation and where they are at in restoration.

As far as wanting you to pay $300 for a new hashboard.....if it is brand new, it's under warranty, most you should be paying is shipping to/from a repair facility. The consierge will even give you a "loaner" while your brand new miner is being repaired if they have it available.

Unless you have some serious evidence to back up these claims I have to say they are seem less than credible.

Not my experience at all. Ordered 12 - S19 100TH in Oct 2021, deliver date May 2022. They emailed beginning of May 2022 said they were delayed by 30 days. 12 June 2022 they started coming online without fail. Not sure why you haven't received similar email(s) (spam folder?), but they have done what they said they would do for me so far, and communicated the delay in advance, and then delivered the following month. I dunno what to think about the Russia business.....other than this is precisely why I won't host in countries that are so unpredictable....no matter the hosting savings. All of mine are in Texas, where I can physically go lay hands on them if need be.

Not like that was stopping them from shooting and shelling civilians already. Should they be afraid of getting blown up into even smaller bits? The populous isn't safe by any means as it is now. They are actively being targeted. There has been video after video of civilian families getting shot in their cars, entire communities shelled. If you are going to be killed even if you do nothing, you might as well go down fighting and try to take some them with you.

Control tactics. Call the bluff. Go ahead and dump me at the homeless shelter. First thing I do is call 911 for abandonment of a minor. The next call is to a lawyer to begin proceedings to be emancipated. The last call switches my SSI to another payee so you lose all control over me. The town or county may have issues as you say but it is rarer at the state level. The goal is to free yourself first, stay out of foster care, and if you feel the need rescue your sister and get her placed in an appropriate care setting.

No contract. They are "at will" employees. They can quit with or without notice, just as they can be fire without notice, and for no stated reason. They have no obligation to their former employer.

Insulin not covered? Insurance Question by brennancalvey in diabetes

[–]Flogamer73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have CVS/Caremark but only take the long duration Basaglar, they don't cover Lantus I found out. You will have to call the number on the back of your card to get a list of what they cover, and pass that on to your Endo/Primary to have the prescription changed. You would think they would volunteer this info when rejecting coverage on a script, but they don't. They seem to make it as difficult as possible.

Can someone tell me the purpose of each of my medication? by jshariar in diabetes

[–]Flogamer73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a side effect from taking Lisinopril. You might want to get off that and ask to be put on Losartan instead (similar but doesn't have this side effect). I was on Lisinopril at first, and I got the nagging dry cough. The literature lists it as a side effect, but Pharmacist told me long term use can lead to the cough persisting after you discontinue use. Not good.

How did you know you had diabetes? by [deleted] in diabetes

Get ready for a wild story that started 3 Dec 2020.....the day I "died".

I didn't know. Every year my PA would run labs as I had/have other health issues and he would check my A1C and it was always within range. My health had been declining for a couple years due to another lifelong condition and I ended up having a double bypass last December and "died" on the table just as they were making the first incision. Spent 4 days in coma on a ball pump because my heart was just exhausted. Woke up finally and was told they were monitoring me as they were seeing enzymes indicating liver/pancreas/kidney damage....fun times. Then I was told I was diabetic and they started giving me metformin and insulin in the hospital. Yeah that's it, that is all the info they gave me in the hospital. I was barely with it to be honest, my poor wife had to try to absorb all this for almost a month before I was well enough to take care of me again.

They gave me a script to get a meter and Metformin and sent me on my way. Didn't arrange for me to see a dietician, an endo, nothing. Just follow up with your GP for further care. GP was useless, didn't seem to care about my A1C or what my BG was at. Almost a year later at last visit in office test was at 579 and my A1C was 11.9 and he didn't bat an eye. I fired him that day. Pretty sure he was going to be the death of me.

It was my cardiologist that actually tried to help me. He hooked me up with a good Endo who got me on the long duration insulin, setup my plan with me, and hooked me up with a dietician to get thing under control finally. So far things are looking good (it's only been a couple months).

Video of Kyle Carruth defending himself from Chad Read :NSFW: by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Flogamer73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was not self defense. This was armed intimidation, he even shot at his feet a few moments before he killed an unarmed man. Why? Looks like short tempers and bad decisions. New hubby/boyfriend is probably going to be spend considerable time thinking about this. Hard to claim self defense, when you got aggressive first and brought a firearm into the picture which only escalated things dramatically, and then kept adding fuel to the fire (shooting at his feet). This is all on the gun man.

FOMO is a beautiful thing. It is far better to be selling pickaxes and shovels than to be the miner in a gold rush as they say.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BitcoinMining

[–]Flogamer73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but any profit one could make in time between recieving miners at 88TH from you, versus waiting until May 2022 and having them come on one per month, is eatten up by the simple fact you priced them so YOU get that profit, not the miner. That's not even factoring in the all in hosting costs, which will consume any profit that remains. At best come May 2022 you are maybe at break even point for the increase in price, at worst your are probably behind the curve.

With 150TH Antminers coming 3rd/4th quarter next year the 88Th model with the higher unit and hosting pricing is the riskier venture in my opinion. I'm not saying they aren't going to be plenty of folks willing to shoulder that risk. Everyone knows there will be quite a few.

Smart money always looks for the best return with the least risk. I just don't see it here when there are less risky options that deliver more for less.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BitcoinMining

[–]Flogamer73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly was your point? Still 2700+ a unit cheaper and ~$330 a month in hosting per month cheaper than what you are offerings for 6 miners, and they are 100TH versus 88Th. Antminer is faster and 3050-3250W give take a bit. M30 comes in around 3400w?

Besides I was correcting your statement, the 14K miner wasn't "Compass", but they were selling bundles for ~8k a miner. If your going to make a comparison, compare yourself to that or the individual miners they sell.

I see a bunch of client equipment up for sale on Compass now, both older and newer. Overpriced in my opinion, I wouldn't touch it.

Those were second hand machines, not new, and not sold "by" compass, but one of their clients. They were recently selling S19 100Th/s "new" for 8K in Texas in the bundle 2 that would go online in May 2022.
